No way in our position we are going into the second half of the league and a winnable two legged Cup Semi without a third striker. STM
Newcastle transfers right now seems like CIA pre 9/11. Lots of chatter, we know somethings coming but fuck knows where and when.
KaKa
I imagine it will be a versatile striker that can also play out wide. Thuram would be the perfect profile of player. He's a powerfully built mobile striker that can play as a lone striker, but can also play out wide and actually played out wide more earlier in his career. Maybe the reports he wasn't interested in coming were off the mark?

STM
We must have someone lined up or at least be incredibly confident that we can make a late addition to our forward line. I can't even think of anyone we've been linked with.

I have a feeling it will be someone more versatile though that can also feature out wide.

Newcastle United are a dominant force in European football with two XIs that are the envy of most clubs in the world, but N-O is still divided about whether the £25M spent on Chris Wood in January 2022 was a waste of money. the amount of angst caused by this transfer. TRC
Trossard? He can play wide and was playing as a false 9 earlier this year, gives us a different dimension. Better in a possession heavy team than Wood

I thought so too, but someone posted on here recently that he'd actually hardly played there. If he can then he's another excellent option because he's left footed and so would add another left footer that can cut in from the right side as an alternative to Almiron, while also being able to play upfront. He’s got an absolute beauty of a left foot. Lovely player.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
Yeah I know we can only properly judge at the end of the window and will likely provoke claims of entitlement, but feeling a bit frustrated at our lack of activity this window so far. The Prophet
Shame that Chelsea being in for Caicedo rules out pretty much every other team, including ourselves. Brighton are looking at £60 million as a starting point and having already rinsed Chelsea for Cucarella, they'll know they can get significantly North of that. Most sensible clubs simply won't pay it.
mighty__mag
I personally think Moukoko and Moussa Diaby are top of list, if they were achieved this month. If it moves onto summer, then that changes.

Shak
Moukoko would be an absolute dream. Long term you'd assume he'll be seen as a Wilson replacement but short term I'd definitely love a left footed player who could play Almiron's spot too. Do feel if he gets injured we'll lose a lot of our balance. Imagine bringing on Moukoko instead of Murphy when we're chasing a goal late and Miggy has run out of gas. Would be ideal as at his age he'll likely be OK with playing off the bench for a while but he seems like if he was needed to play a lot he'd be dynamite too.
