black_n_white
Not sure on the reliability but I’ve heard Isak to Liverpool is pretty much done, all that is delaying is the replacement player. Seems likely as we have seemingly been pushing hard on one or two last few days. Time will tell whether or not Isak trains this in next few days. Would expect some of the coaching staff to go to training centre or somewhere to meet with Isak face to face today, establish what the crack is ahead of tomorrow. They will not want a situation of assuming he’s going to turn up at 9am tomorrow, they’ll want ground rules laying down before all players are there. Some point this afternoon would expect noise to be leaked that either Isak is settled to come back, options still open or, Isak has told Howe he’s not coming to training and wants out. I fly to Korea about four times a year and am almost always working the day after I land. It’s not that bad if you’re used to traveling, as professional footballers are. I imagine having a chartered flight makes in significantly better as well. Edited August 4, 2025 by oldtype

If not it will make us look unbelievably weak and let's be honest justification that Liverpool and Isak have pulled our pants down and fucked us royally. Watching this whole ordeal from the sidelines believe me isn’t amusing it’s far from that! What it shows to me is just how difficult all this is for supporters and indeed re enforces my view just how arrogant players in general are! We all tend to get too invested in a player. We want to believe when they thump the badge on their chest it is to show us they care and love the club when the reality is it’s not just those that play for other clubs that are mercenaries they all, save a very very small number ,are just that, mercenaries! I fully understand those that want your club to play hardball but the cards are stacked sadly in the players favour. In effect you have to get rid and the sooner the better for you all so at least you can start to gain proper focus on the 25/6 season. His behaviour and absence will be dominating not just Howes thoughts it will be a the source of much chatter amongst all the players, the hierarchy and support staff and that’s before you look at the supporters. Sadly Liverpool seems to be the only club showing interest. They may tinker around the edges re the sum they offer but on your behalf I can’t start to imagine what happens is he doesn’t get that move . Will he ever be accepted back into the fold ? Could he ever step back and apologise? Its a mess that’s for sure and nothing of your doing Edited August 4, 2025 by Terraloon
gbandit
Well said, it’s disgusting behaviour from Isak and the fact he’s just let this vacuum of silence and paranoia develop more and more is a huge indictment on his character. The incredible lack of respect towards everything connected to NUFC is genuinely pathetic. Hope his career absolutely tanks as soon as he leaves us. Would be the only fair outcome after we pocket a huge fee

IndonesianToon
If Yasir and PIF are the ones to decide, I predict Isak will never be transferred to Liverpool. These Arabs are very2 proud people, for better or worse (hence, the non stop conflict in the area) They will not tolerate to be undermined by others. manorpark
LOVE this from Eddie . . . “You have to earn the right to train with us. “We are Newcastle United. “The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team, to be part of a squad. “You have to act in the right way. “So that is also at play here. “We will make sure that any player does that, to earn the right to train with the rest of the group. “No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal. “Of course I’d like him to be at training but whether he will, I don’t know at this moment in time. “We have been here (in South Korea) with the time difference, preparing for training and for games. “Other people have been dealing with that situation back at home.”
Abacus
There was one report that he'd been saying for a lot of last year that he wanted that to be his last at the club. Exploring options now seems to back that up. Yes, he has a contract but we also don't know exactly what discussions were had last year with him. Hopefully it would have been something along the lines that he could only leave if someone met the club's valuation. Which Liverpool obviously haven't, nowhere near, so that would be a fairly straightforward response to him. So I don't think it is impossible that he stays. Haz
I can't imagine there's any training today, but I could see Eddie and Co. showing up to grind out some resolution, since Isak will (should) be there.

Could he ever step back and apologise? Its a mess that’s for sure and nothing of your doing All of that may be true, but at the end of the day, we need to be able to deal with the discomfort and pressure, if we want to establish ourselves as a top club. Manu dealt with it with Rooney, Liverpool with Gerrard and Suarez, and Spurs with Kane. Im sure it was awkward and destabilizing, but all of those clubs understood that it was more important to establish deterence than it was to alleviate a headache. You do not sell your best player to a domestic rival. Period It's so destructive to your image as a club. We have a a fantastic manager and a unified dressing room full of great characters and leaders. Their is no imminent financial need to sell the player this summer. We can wait to sell him next year for a similar fee, and still strengthen the squad. Go out and get an insurance striker, sign a couple of players, and let Isak know the door is open for him to join this great squad getting ready to embark on a champions league campaign, or rot on the bench and go next year at the beginning of the summer. Some of us are stuck in the mike Ashley era. We're not a mid table club stuck in a cycle of recycling players and going again. We're an ambitious club looking to grow and challenge at the top, and we need to start acting like it. Im pessimistic we actually will, but there's no reason we shouldn't. We just need to adopt the mentality and go with it. Their are no doomsday outcomes of holding him another season no matter what all of the sky six media tell us

I’ve not heard anything but when a player refuses to go on pre-season tour and various journalists report he’s effectively agreed a 5 year deal on 300k per week, it’s looked done and dusted to me. The replacements and final price will be what’s going on behind the scenes now.
