He's been absolutely shite since the cup final , loads of us last season kept saying he was injured for them last 10 games as he was so bad .

If you go even deeper he had a 3 month spell last season December - March where he was class but either side of that he was poor.

He got away with it to a certain extent playing for us but it's being highlighted every time he plays for Liverpool and it's absolutely brilliant to see . Eddie and the way we played made him look a lot better than he is but even then we would say he was anonymous in plenty of games . He will get better for Liverpool but he will never justify that transfer fee .

The way people are starting to look back at him I don't know why we didn't just take £100m back in July first bid. He was fucking class for us, man.

if that’s league only.

All comps for club:

P 24 G 6

including Sweden

P 30 G 7

4 goals in 10 for us [1 pen], 2 in 14 for Liverpool, 1 in 6 for Sweden.

5 of the goals were within 6 weeks of the final.

Thanks for the efforts.

1/4 striker - not good enough. Especially when he offers very little else.

A 1 in 4 striker isn't terrible on the face of it. But after you factor in his price tag, the fact he offers nothing else on the pitch and that when he plays he's keeping a far better player out the side then it's an appalling return.

I agree with Warnock. Zero pre-season is likely still having an impact (amongst other things), but he's only got one person to blame for that.

I'm not sure I do agree, the drop off is insane. I get he may not be as sharp after missing a pre season, but to look like he does is nuts and you can't blame a pre season on that IMO.

It's also not as if he sat pre season out injured, granted he trained alone but he still trained. As above, i get he shouldn't be as sharp as a result, but not this.

Guess we'll see what Wissa does. He missed a large chunk of preseason and then had 11 weeks injured.

I don't. What Liverpool are seeing now is exactly what we seen from Isak after the cup final last season. I player that looked completely lost.

Even if it was down to him not having a pre season (which it isn't), thats purely down to him. He went on strike and refused to train or play for us.

We’ve seen more promise from Wissa in his short cameo!

Nothing to do with pre season and everything to do with attitude. Attitude saw him peel off after the final last season. It saw him go on strike. It made him think he was better than he was. It's not gone down well with his new team mates, they do not trust him on or off the pitch.

He's made himself an island. He's a talent, but how many time have talents failed because of attitude? Unfortunately for him it's attitude which gets him back to where he was, but his is so bad, it's becoming more likely he'll never hit the heights of when he was with us. The longer it goes on, the less chance he becomes the player we bought, nevermind the player Liverpool thought they had.

Then there's his fitness and injuries. Not what you need when your attitude can't be relied on.

It looks more mental to me. Whenever the algo brings his image my way, he looks like he's aged loads since last season.

He'll not be at his physical best, but he looks to have really shrunk mentally - either he's got what he wants so the motivation has gone or he's found the summer & subsequent attention a problem. Maybe a combination of both.

Feels to me we had a whole season where he often didn't give a fuck, but raised his game against higher profile opponents to encourage them to make a move for him.

Unless he was injured during the summer he only has himself to blame. Keep your head down, keep training all whilst trying to engineer a move behind the scenes, the right way.

He left Eddie with no choice but to exclude him from everything.

A poor preseason can sink a players entire season.

Chuck in poor application and a struggling team who don't know how to get the best out if him and its made for superb viewing.

I agree, but like I pointed out earlier, what Liverpool are seeing now is exactly what we seen from March onwards last season. That had nothing to do with pre season.

Was a great moment yesterday where Ekitike could have squared it to him but instead chose to blast it off the keeper for a corner from a ridiculously tight angle, with our hero waving his arms in exasperation at young Hugo. Excellent.

There is absolutely no way him missing pre season is effecting him now.

It's possible that he's so mentally weak that a bad start to the season just continues to eat away at him. Add the physical stress of getting up to speed, tactical work (as we know that itself is very difficult mid season when you're in Europe) and little niggly injuries compounding his overall morale.

The pepperami cunt just isn’t suited to the way Liverpool play at the moment. The bullshit about him missing preseason doesn’t cut it for me either. It’s the middle of December. As someone said earlier in the thread, Hall was away from the squad training and he hit the ground running. He’s phoning it in , the pencil necked prickIMG_3713.jpeg.ffb3304477115555356a4c4428dccc60.jpeg

Nah, a pre season is essentially just a handful of games to get match fit. That’s all it is. High intensity training and a few matches usually not more than 60 mins. It’s been blown up in to something way more than it actually is. He’s now played in 18 games if he’s still not sharp or in form that’s something way beyond not having a preseason.

Reminder Tonali missed a full season and the following preseason.
