Not a big moment in the game but something noticeable from the highlights: if Gordon makes the right decision and whips a low ball across the box in the first half, that ends up as an exemplary poacher's goal from Isak. He is almost dawdling towards the box but then absolutely bolts past the defender on his blind side towards the far post, and there's no preventing a goal if the ball comes across. He's got that explosiveness to add to his general ingenuity and skill.

Bloke's gonna score about a million goals for us.

Noticed that, Gordon could have played it low across with pace or even stood the ball up and Isak had 2 yards on the defender with some lightning movement. Hopefully in time, Gordon will be more aware of teammates movements and make better decisions, he was obviously desperate to score and impress, it'll take time. Isak's instincts, vision, speed and movement is elite already.

That was the biggest mistake Gordon made yesterday. Not holding it against him, but yes, either through making a poor choice or lacking awareness, it was a big error. Sure Eddie will be highlighting it in his post match one to one.

On the match cam he looked like he had no idea Isak was there, it even took a while after the chance for him to acknowledge Isak, which kinda sums up the 'trying too hard' thing people have been saying.

Yeah I thought so too - looked like he only had the shot in his mind.

Think Isak experiment on the left has backfired. He is one of the most talented forwards. Don't waste him

If he'd started central we'd have probably had Gordon out there being shite on the left.

The biggest issue is that there's a massive gulf in class between Isak and the rest of our front three options.

We need two of him, essentially. One for the left and one central.

Hopefully we'll have Longstaff and Maxi back for the run-in. Was excited to see Wilson and Isak start together but when we were a goal down and Wilson was playing like shite it was a bit of a shitter trying to figure out what to do.

He’s an outrageous footballer. He almost never makes the wrong decision and his technique is noticeably above everyone else in the team. Just need to get him on the ball as much as possible as he continually makes things happen

No, Bruno and Joelinton

I mean, they're both excellent players but Isak looks to me someone who could become one of the very best in the game.

We should be building the team this summer to make sure we get the best out of this absolute phenom.

Was hoping he'd be given a little more license to roam today with Willock playing more close to a LM role. Think Isak on the left can absolutely be successful, but you want him drifting infield occasionally and picking up the ball in a variety of positions.
