He make his 3 apps and can now play for us in Jan?

Thought he took his chance well. Not much else he could have done. He did look a little tactically lost, but Eddie will sort that out no problem.

He’s very raw, but seems to have some great attributes to build upon.

The brief highlights for CCM and that tonight would at the very least provide evidence that he's already got a pretty sharp attacking instinct. He looked pretty lost otherwise then suddenly did well to ensure that half-chance became a full one.

He is normally played wide right, using his pace and dribbling skills to outdo opponents. Perhaps the occasion got to him also, hes the youngest player to feature in the world cup KO since Pele.

Couldn't ask much more from the moment, took it down, turned, shot on target with power - one of the better pieces of forward play in the game

That one touch with the turn and shot on goal was better than anything that Martinez managed with three opportunities at the other end for the much vaunted Argentina. More often than not it's a goal, only a really fine save from the goalie stops that from hitting the net.

He did look surprisingly strong, and did well to hold off that challenge and get his shot away.

It was very tough for such a young lad, coming in on that occasion, and he struggled to get involved. But that was a glimpse of why we've bought him.

They brought him on so late I thought he would barely get a touch considering how Argentina had dominated that second half, but the only time he was given a sniff almost turned the game on it's head. The defenders mobbing Martinez for the save said everything.

The experience will have done him the world of good, mixing it with the likes of Messi and Otamendi etc. He's still just a kid but he's been deeply involved in a World Cup campaign and that will help him and us when he joins officially. He's raw but he's clearly got the talent and he'll get better and better as he gets older, fitter and stronger  - he could well be a little diamond
