We're pretty much over the Isak disruption now Wissa is playing, and presumably won't be in four competitions from March onwards, so I'm quite hopeful of getting around 60 regardless of what the remaining fixtures are. Results in specific fixtures often echo across seasons though, so this is interesting analysis. We finished 5th on around 56 points and having only won 2 away matches all season having been in and around teams like Charlton & Bolton for most of the season. Very similar vibes to this year. We're not particularly good either ofc. Brentford look dangerous tbh. Had a slow start but loads of momentum now, solid defence and a lethal striker. Its not unreasonable to say that we could be out of all three cup competitions in five weeks time, especially with our away form as it is. That means a clear run at the league with no midweek distractions and injuries. Three months for Howe to do his magic on the training ground with one game a week and target 4th or 5th place. We are essentially starting the City game 2-0 down though on paper, whilst the other games are (obviously) starting 0-0 so surely we prioritise those. We haven’t scored a single goal under Howe at the Etihad, so to think we will score 3 and keep a clean sheet is bonkers. He won’t admit it publicly but he will know our LC run is done.
