NUFC Transfer Rumours

All the deals for potential strikers look really hard to do.

Brentford haven't got a replacement for Wissa

PSG don't really want to sell Ramos

Woltemade probably only wants to join Bayern

I hate the idea of ending up with Jackson and DCL.

PSG are happy to sell Ramos. It’s just whether someone else takes him over us

I just cant understand how naive we have been in this window being lead along and everyones 2nd choice.

The reality is top tier players might be open to coming to us but they will a) be in demand and attract other clubs and b) the other clubs can pay more. Unless we have unique situations like with Isak where other big clubs weren't in a position of need, we cant seem to get the players we want.

We simply can't compete yet in the elite market and need to step back to the bracket below. Ironically some of the names we have tried for are in that bracket and we are still missing out.

Maybe gone are the days players want to come to specific clubs. Especially when agents are in their ear.

The short story is Isak has screwed us over. We've been forced into a main striker chase that was completely unplanned. I'm guessing Wissa would have been done as third name on the "new Wilson" list after Delap and Pedro. Potentially losing Isak has sent our striker recruitment into disarray. Needing two means all kinds of different parameters come into play, how budget is allocated between them, what profiles might be complementary etc. etc.

I can't believe I'm saying this but at this point I'm thinking I'd half be ok with taking Nunez and £100m for Isak.

Just a reminder lads, it's summer, the sun's out, go outside and climb a mountain or something, forget about the football, it's good for your mental state of mind... Or do some hard drugs, it'll probably put you in a better mental state than this post tbh.

It was in disarray before that, and we’ve no idea if Pedro was a Wilson replacement.  It doesn’t sound like Isak’s desire to leave came out of a clear blue sky.

Whoever is in contact with the targets and their agent is doing an abysmal job at selling the club.

Lee Charnley managed to bag us Cabaye for buttons whilst Ashley gave the clubs wheelie bins for ice baths.

Bring him back now we've got some money to spend and watch him truly flourish.

It’s going to come to a point that after this weekend and a striker has not been brought in the leadership group Bruno, Burn etc will be asking serious questions why we are going into a season with no recognised striker on the books (assuming Isak is off)

Get wissa in and go with what we got until January.

Then we might have the right staff in place to actually complete deals and do some actual scouting.

We’ll be mid table if we do that.

Probably a wild shout, nevertheless I want rid of Isak now I'm done with him.

I'd happily take Ramos and Wissa and get rid.

You can't have players who want to leave playing.

I think sub consciously when you're all in it together you're going to run that little bit harder. Why would you bust a gut for someone who doesn't want to be there?

If Sesko goes to Man United fair, but it's hard to convince a player to join us ahead of Real, Chelsea or Liverpool.

Imagine what we could have done without the PSR ceiling that has ruined our plans for 3 windows man? When we finally have space….

This is just rotten timing mate, it’s a summer where many squads are in need of refresh and we’re all chasing after the very few top talented players who’ve proven themselves in the PL or who have been promising talents who needed a year at their respective clubs abroad to continue development. I said this before but I’d venture to say in most years we’d have no issue signing JP or Delap, but Chelsea are Hoovers.  Liverpool finally pull the thumb out and go after the same guy we wanted to play with or replace isak and then go after isak. A year or so more after Man United buy Hojlund and Zirkzee they want Sesko too - binning the other two more or less. It’s just shit man. There’s no other way around it.  Newcastle expected Isak to go next summer, if he did, not this summer. So that has massively fucked our plans. I’d imagine we’d have gone after JP or Delap or even Hugo harder had we known Isak would show up to Austria completely normal then kick up a fuss and do what he did. Can’t plan for every outcome in life when dealing with emotive footballers who have naff logic.
