Can we rely on them for the next season aswell? Lascelles and Krafth are also ageing, so a centre back for the future would be nice next summer. Maybe even two if Botman doesn't have a good season. Replacements for Willock and Trippier will also be key. GK depends on how well Ramsdale does, same with our wingers. Schär had quite a few iffy games last season but Burn just seems to get better and better. Right now I would say we can confidently rely on Schär through this season and Burn for the following season too as he doesn’t rely on his pace at all. Burn probably has some specialist value for a long time too. Bringing him on while defending a lead deep and I can’t see him not doing well basically ever. Taylor Swift
The floor of the team is very high, we have options. But, Isak was a big game player who made a difference in key matches. We don’t have anyone like that right now. The goal of the next few windows should be finding someone with a very high ceiling, even if he’s inconsistent. I honestly don’t want to see £40-50m signings. It’s time to go for £80m or £90m on a winger or attacking midfielder that’s decisive in key matches. As far as I could see: Diaz £65.5m Nunez £46.2m Quansah £30m Eliot was a loan Doak £25m So £167m (which to be fair is good money!). Guess the difference is in odds and sods or the way they have included add on fees in the overall amount.
Menace
Gordon is out of form - Gordon in form is better than Leao. Leao only has fans that watch him on youtube - anyone that watches AC or Italian football regularly will tell you he's more inconsistent than Gordon. There's a reason no top club is taking a punt on him every summer. Edit: AC Milan have financial issues, a lot of the big clubs signed wingers this summer and yet still no one took a punt..
