NUFC Transfer Rumours

To make myself feel better - I’ve told myself that’s what the new CEO and DOF will install with the Isak money. This summer is to get us over the hump and keep us competitive where we should be.

Well it's quite obvious that what we have now isn't the planned structure. Our CEO got cancer and our DOF quit right before the window.

I'm 90% sure that we will have a professional setup in place before long, it's just not in time for this summer (which admittedly is a failure, especially the CEO).

It's unfortunate given we were ready to spend big this summer, but as our interim player acquisition team is finding out, going up against the cartel is not a fair fight. We need the specialists to stay one step ahead in the PSR snakepit designed to keep us down.

I'd take Vardy as the third striking option, but we'd still need 2 more ahead of him (assuming Isak leaves).

I agree, but I definitely believe that he could do a limited job for any EPL side.

To my knowledge - the CEO announced he had cancer 10 months ago. To not have anything in place now doesn't give me confidence that we'll have a best in class setup that can influence PIF in the near future but here's to hoping.

My gripe is that it's going to take more than a professional setup to catch number 6 of the big 6, let alone any of the others. And we don't even have that as of today.

It's not that unfortunate. Eales resigned 10 months ago, and the DOF appointment went wrong from literally the first day.

Let's hand accountability out fairly. Slow and bad decisions contributed to our predicament more than the bad luck alone of Eales.

PSR is not a snakepit. It's rules. The types of rules our board side-step in their personal/business lives, like they do with taxes and such. It's a challenge but one we can navigate well if our owners are engaged at the right level.

I quite enjoy your posts even though every single one has made me sadder than I was before I read it. 😄

There is something amusing about NO losing its collective mind about all our targets being known Premier League players, and then proposing fucking Paqueta, Mitrovic, Vardy and Xhaka.

Paqueta is pretty good tbf.

The bigger issue with such a window is we’ve stopped signing players with much room for higher sales. Wissa, Elanga, Gallagher etc. we’ll just want to get our money back when we want to move them on.

A club in our PSR position should sign 80% of players who will can realistically increase in value

The only one of those players we have actually signed is 23 and has bags of time to potentially increase in value [emoji38]

We aren't navigating it any better now that Eales has stepped aside though. Maybe it can be done, maybe it can't. I don't know which other clubs have done it successfully, but I don't use Chelsea as a comparison because being a cartel club, that automatically puts them in a tier above which means they have more options.

Which other clubs have done it? Forest or Villa? How did that work out for them?

I hope we get so frustrated with this window that Eddie just goes "Hey Suds, what you got?" and we sign five gems.

I want this scene so bad now

Premier League Selebrasi GIF by MolaTV

Would have him with a £10m bonus if he scores and does this to Palace.

And Sunderland whilst someone runs behind him with their cock out.

Realistically, Tottenham is the last club to “break in” to the cartel without the benefit of being able to spend unlimited money in the transfer market. And even their status is a bit tenuous imo.

Suds:

Boss, I like Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, James Trafford, Dean Huijsen and Marc Guehi.

As long as it’s an option to sign rather than an obligation then I don’t mind. He’s a good PL keeper but emotionally unstable.

If it tides us over this season until we sort out the CEO, DoF and scouting out and improves this mess of transfer of a transfer window I won’t complain.

It's a sensible no frills solution that may surprise us (Matz Sels)
