I think Jackson is very likely a last minute Isak replacement. Seems like it's been really quiet on him which is weird given that he has pretty good stats in the PL? You'd have thought there would be more interest in him. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's lined up in case we get an acceptable bid for Isak.

We aren't getting another midfielder like no matter how much we would like to. It will stretch the remaining budget just to bring in another striker I reckon, unless we sell Isak...and the way Liverpool have moved so far, just don't see how it can happen.

Do we have place in the squad for Wissa and 2 more? I mean, if we sell Targett, Lascelles.. maybe? Or if the CM is a younger player that doesnt need to be registered?

He's said he wants the best striker we can possibly get and has referenced the fact we've lost Isak and Wilson, so i think there could be another potential big money signing after those two. It's probably conditional on Isak leaving but maybe we want to mitigate his lack of involvement and go for it anyway

I just think that A) There are no "big money players" left B) we could anyway get one, and then sell Isak next summer, wouldn't matter PSR-wise.

B) would be absolutely ideal - humiliate Isak, protect our season, don't give Liverpool what they want. But you might be right that the player we need isn't available and/or we're not capable of getting them.

As much as I want that to happen, I have a feeling it’s a full back Howe wants.

 

Targett is as surplus as Willock (and could get a £5m fee). So a LB there, or even a RB knowing Tino can cover LB is needed as only have three pros in that collection with Trippier off next summer.

I make it 24 of the 25 places taken if we get Ramsey and Wissa.

 

That’s with three keeper places.

 

Miley, Hall and Park don’t take a place.

 

Last place would go to Ashby if we didn’t sign anyone else and he didn’t go on loan.
