We have no money to spend due to Howe's poor recruitment and now it's on him to explain it.

So we should have spent less money in the summer?

We should have tried harder to fine value in the market instead of paying the premiums we paid. Especially as we are crying poor again.

Maybe we did (and failed miserably..)

Maybe we would have (and succeeded) had we a DOF?

Had no DoF.

We were turned down by everyone we wanted.  Couldn't offer the wages other teams were offering either.

But sure, why not blame Howe for all of that.

Striker targets, yes. But I believe Elanga was our top target for that right wing position, right? And was Ramsey really the best we could get for £43m?
I get that Eddie fanboys don't like to hear a bad word said about him, but where it is due it should be dished out. His influence on our transfer policy is well documented, and last summer it fucked us in at least two key positions.

Even the 6 clubs massively ahead of us financially, are affected by it to some extent though. It’s never not going to be a consideration for any football club regardless of size or success

Those 6 still have completely different levels of extent and consideration. We aren't allowed to catch up and never will be. I've not made my peace with that yet.

I think id go for Roefs, Blobby & the Sunderland transfer team in the summer.

I thought similar the other day, should’ve wrapped on signing Wissa from Brentford and signed whoever the fuck scouted their forward acquisitions the last few year 😂

The January window being more difficult, is that not just a myth? Lots of players unhappy with lack of playing time players going into 18 months left on their contract.

The general lack of activity across the board would suggest it isn't a myth, but we've managed to find value there before when we had to.

January 22 is arguably still the best value transfer window we've had under PIF (Chris Wood aside).

It's 2040 and ex Real Madrid and Newcastle midfielder Lewis Miley is to take a player-manager role at his boyhood club. "We won't be bringing any new players in" opined Miley.

"The Alexander Isak money is gone and due to PSR we are severely hamstrung. We'll just have to get used to another year in the Championship."

Head of recruitment, Sammy Ameobi, says next summer will be where we concentrate all our transfer business.

PIF were approached to comment but they're all too busy playing golf.

Howe is the kind of person to go to buy a telly online and listen to the 1 bad rewiew out of thousands. He's the most glass half empty manager I've ever seen in terms of transfers.

With some his own achievements and conscientiousness when needed are now expectations that he alone is accountable for.
