Tino looked better at LB than RB last season, and I think it’s down to the players around him. At RB, he had Murphy ahead of him, who doesn’t really offer much link-up play or movement to support overlaps. But on the left, playing with Gordon or Barnes, he had teammates who cut inside and created space for him to attack. Even Trippier struggled to impact games on the right last season, which shows it’s more about chemistry and whole setup than position.

The link-up between Tino and Barnes for about 4-6 weeks was one of the biggest reasons we have a cup win and another top 5 finish.

Aye, Murphy needs a full back, Gordon and Barnes need a wing back.

From Douglas:

The reset may not be over, though. The i Paper understands that City remain in the market for a right-back – tentative efforts to tempt Newcastle United to sell Tino Livramento have met with a resounding not-for-sale message from St James’ Park – and may replace senior first team players who they will listen to offers for.

Feels unfair for him to be playing that level. For his opponents I mean.

Shame they have him playing left back though. Would like him to get back familiar playing right back ready for next season.

right back with a left-footed player cutting in and not taking up his space ahead of him and we'll see the best of him imo.

Hall is the man for LB anyway, so this has to be the answer.
