From what I can remember of the interview he was basically saying it would still be between the club and the agent to determine what realistic means, but that a lot more attention would have to be paid towards it from the players side to make sure it wasn't something daft like 250m the way some of them are currently. Don’t get me wrong, would have loved to sign him but with Schar, Burn, Botman, annd Thiaw (plus Lascelles and Krafth for cover) CB is not only our strongest current position but it is the best CB position we have ever been in. I agree, but Schär and Burn both turn 34 this season, while Kraft is 31, and Lascelles soon turn 32. Lush Vlad Posted January 7 Share Posted January 7 That ship sailed long ago, but I'd still love him here. However, he really isn't very imposing as a CB. He is still quite aggressive with how he plays, but he's fairly weak by a centre half's standards. Crap in the air and all. His reading of the game and ability on the ball are what makes him stand out to me. His passing must be up there with the best in the league and the likes of VVD. It’s not his game I have issue with, I think he’s a fantastic footballer even if he is a bit smaller in stature than ideal for a CB like you say. My issue is that he doesn’t want to come here.
