There was a streamable in this thread (doesn’t work now). He twists and falls trying to chase the ball down in the box, it then cuts to him testing his knee by pulling his heel up to his backside. He then immediately lies down with his hands above his head.

If he’d ruptured his ACL he’d not have got up from the fall, there has to be a chance that he’s given it a pretty hard tweak. For some reason there was a load of it’ll just be cramp posts on here. Have to assume not many saw the footage.

Would just add that the way he was chasing the ball it looked like he was running on empty. Any injury was wholly avoidable.

Not always true mate.  I snapped mine, and drove home, in pain obviously.

And, the 2nd time i ruptured it. And, didn't really feel too much apart from the knee being unsteady, and it being obvious i couldn't carry on playing.

More painful that the snap later mind.

Every time I come back to this thread it immediately puts me back on a downer after what has been an otherwise good day. I'm steeling myself because it does seem like it's not something minor, but hopefully it's just a twist which will take care of itself given a few weeks of rest.

My son destroyed his knee in June playing rugby. Tore meniscus and obliterated his ACL, said he heard a bad sound like a pop but hardly any pain. MRI told the story.

You can rupture your ACL and carry on playing. Just because he got up from his initial fall doesn’t rule it out unfortunately.

If thats correct its better than feared but 4/5 weeks out means more responsibility on the shoulders of Woltemade plus relying on Osula to come in towards the end of games to give Woltemade a break.
