Also We’re in the champions league and he’s 29. He’s given great service to Brentford but he can’t hang around any longer if he has ambition, they are in a relegation battle by the looks of things.

There's an argument that Liverpool can obviously offer greater accomplishments for Isak too though and he's hitting his prime, where his stock is high and he can perform for a team looking to win it all. So Isak has ambition too, I think the difference is Liverpool are trying to screw us out of his worth and we're prepared to offer Brentford what Wissa is worth.

Get Vardy in for the season. So atleast we have a fallback option incase these striker deals take us to deadline day.

I’m a tad surprised that he hasn’t been picked up yet. Granted he’s 38, but he did have 9 goals last season in a poor Leicester side. Can’t say I watched him at all last season, have his legs completely gone?

I need a new ankle and I’d still fancy my chances in a race against him.

Difference is we've not moved the goalposts, Brentford keep making up provisos and upping the price. Of course they're well within their rights to but it's infuriating.

Brentford have been clear from early on it would be circa £50m. That was the chat early doors from Jan onwards. The £40m has been a figure banded about based on what we’ve been prepared to go too, never what Brentford want. The hope has been after the £25m-£30m offer, the current situation, it would eventually be acceptable the £40m.

We’ve both been steadfast in not moving and it’s why literally nothing has moved, no new bid, nothing.

Wissa has been a complete wanker all summer and I don’t want him. Yea he’s desperate to get the move he probably never thought would happen 12 months ago (UCL and final big contract), but there’s ways to go about it. If we’re unhappy as a club with Isak, we can’t be looking at Wissa with dreamy eyes. Be red flags to people, especially if it means going beyond £40m to get him.

Leave this, move on. Can always revisit in January if needs be.

Replacing one snake with another seems like a bad idea to me.

Go for Strand-Larsen instead.

Wolves literally just signed him. He’s their no1 striker. Let’s be realistic

Still looked nippy like it hasn't deserted him yet, still has a year left at the top.

Emmanuel Emegha of Strasbourg has a market value of 30 million ish. He's been quite prolific in the past few seasons. That's just one random name, there are literally loads out there. Ayoze Perez has been banging them in the past couple of years, homecoming? Oihan Sancet for 60 million? Jonathan Burkardt for 40 million from Mainz.

There are options out there.

Are we really that bothered he’s being a huffy twat?

I mean, do we really expect Liverpool fans to be bothered/angered by what Isak’s doing?

Obviously the mental gymnastics going on across SM trying to justify it is ridiculous, but ultimately it’s not their problem. Just like Wissa going on like this isn’t our problem. Fully understand Brentford fans be raging with him, but again, not our problem.

Like that one couple everyone knows from back in the day. Who split up and remove all photos of their ex off social media, change their profile pic and relationship status. Only to then wind up back together a week or two later.

What a strop that is from him

I like Sancet but is he not a midfielder? He's also just done his knee ligaments I think they said on the Bilbao match last night

Burkardt just signed for Frankfurt last month.
