If it was obvious we probably wouldn't have been at the table.

Don't need to be inside this thing to see what every single media report (that local one aside) said about this - that he was waiting for Man United and preferred Man United.

That’s the problem these days. It being on SSN doesn’t make it any more factual than reading it on Twitter.

It’s like when BBC have their gossip column page and people say they read it on the BBC. Not really the same credibility

Yeah, sky's sources are basically twitter minus a few of their journos.

Why people watch sky sports news is beyond me.

If he wanted to sign for us, it would have been done days ago,

He's clearly hoping Man Utd can pull the £ together.

It doesn’t work like that though. He can be interested in joining us whilst still wanting to see all of his options, and that’s fine.

It’s not the reports about his preferences that tell the story here, it’s the progress of it all that makes it clear what’s going on

None of us have a clue what’s going on. Pure speculation because we’re frustrated / scared of missing out / been burnt too many times this summer.

I mean as soon as Ornstein's incredibly specific, clearly agent-fed update came out the other night, it was curtains, aye. Assuming the transfer committee isn't literally braindead, we'll have been investigating other targets from that moment on. Prior to then, clearly we were encouraged enough to progress as far as making definitive offers (again that's assuming the decision makers are powered by functioning brain matter).

If the Ramos link was concrete (let's see), i don't think anyone would choose this lad.

The biggest issue here if we don't sign him is another knock back and another week plus wasted.

I would much prefer Ramos, however with how long it seems to take, i don't think we have time to get that deal done, plus everything else we need.

Less coveted players are easier to sign so I don't think this has ever been a major cause for concern, despite it obviously being better to have players through the door as early as possible.

More nonsense. It’s all about the number. Replacements won’t come cheap and we have a squad to build if we want to continue to progress towards our objectives. There’s no way we’re letting Isak go for a penny less than out valuation. Not with 3 years left on his deal and with only a direct rival at the table.

All I can say is I’m glad none of you are negotiating on our behalf. We hold all the cards yet most of you can’t wait to hand our world class striker over to a rival club for less than we’d consider good value ffs

I agree it will be £150m when add ons are added but Liverpool can afford it with Nunez one foot out the door

Wouldn’t it look the same from a Man Utd POV? He hasn’t gone there either.

Would people really prefer Ramos?

Not for me. Sesko is quicker and more suited to our game, and likely hungrier in making a clear step up.

Ramos is a bit too one paced. Plus the curse of Portuguese strikers all being a bit crap in any proper league, Ronaldo aside.

Id prefer Samu if we can't get Sesko.
