Isak has forced us into a corner

I have no doubt we will sign a couple of strikers and sell Isak for under £150m

I would say the chance of signing no-one and we need to keep playing Isak is higher than people here expect

More nonsense. It’s all about the number. Replacements won’t come cheap and we have a squad to build if we want to continue to progress towards our objectives. There’s no way we’re letting Isak go for a penny less than out valuation. Not with 3 years left on his deal and with only a direct rival at the table.

All I can say is I’m glad none of you are negotiating on our behalf. We hold all the cards yet most of you can’t wait to hand our world class striker over to a rival club for less than we’d consider good value ffs

Agreed. Money means nothing at this moment in time as we're not even able to spend what we already have.  If the club has any sense they will hold onto Isak for one more season regardless of the offer and who we manage to bring in. Sesko will take a session to bed in.

This has been the most tedious window in history and this saga is the most tedious of them all. We're basically sitting in the cuck chair while his agent is twerking for Man Utd. I'm sick of this fucking guy already.

At this point with the delays etc, I'd guess the chances are he probably would prefer Man United, or at least a bidding war for wages etc.

I'm not even that fussed about him if that's the case, to be honest. Decent chance he doesn't work out in the PL, for either club. Whilst I do trust our scouts to have an eye for talent, the same goes for Ekitike.

I do think for both of them, they'd have had a better chance of making it working with Howe but hey, it's their decision.

Pedro is the one I'm more annoyed about missing out on.

Still, it is at least funny that it's likely Man U would need to at least match our bid, given they seem to be trying to buy everyone on the cheap (like we have as well to be fair). Again, I'd leave our bid on the table and concentrate on the rest of the squad for now.

I'm going to be controversial here. Personally, I have no issue with a 22 year old taking his time to make a decision that will decide a huge chunk of his short career and involves moving to an entirely different country.

That's okay, but the club has its viewpoint as well. We can't afford to hang around if the player is dawdling in the hope of getting what he considers to be a better move.

There's a rumour that the player has been given 24 hours to come up with a decision ie he needs to make his mind up today. I think that's sensible.

What’s sensible is to let this one run its course and for our transfer committee to turn its attention to CB and CM if they haven’t already. It’s high time we step up in the pursuit of suitable additions there and the finances involved for these positions may also dictate what needs to happen to the Isak situation.

We’ve obviously been encouraged by something.

The fee being acceptable the only thing encouraging things. Not like we have to increase it, it's just the structure and sell on package.

If we leave this one to Man Utd, that must be the end of their spending for this summer, bit daft considering the other positions they need to fill.

Until a PIF owned Saudi team give them 80m for Casemiro

This is exactly what a properly ran foorball club, a Champions League outfit with competent backroom team would do.

Leave the bid on the table, turn our attention elsewhere and leave Isak dangling for a couple of weeks while we sort our shit out

If it was true and he’s officially “chosen” them, it would have been picked up by everyone. Sounds more like some blokes opinion, going along with speculation.
