Possibly the case and in an ideal world perhaps PIF are giving them additional money for Nunez to pass on to us. Unfortunately this seems too unlikely.

Crossed my mind. It helps us spend much more. Its essentially PIF pumping money into the club without PSR issues

We would not want to be trying to sell in June again to satisfy PSR, that did not work out well last time.

That was only because we had all our eggs in a basket marked "Bruno to Man City".

Next time we will have lots and lots of sellable assets and lots of potential suitors. There would be no repeat.

We most definitely would. Keeping Isak here for another year, allowing us to go deep in the CL with the xtra revenue that generates, and waiting for a better market for Isak next year is absolutely the right thing to do if the alternative is, as you present, to be pressured by fucking Liverpool into a coward's decision to cash out at below the value we esteem him to be worth and at the start of the PSR cycle rather than at the end of it. Keep Isak, get a CB and CM in from the proceeds of his June sale and see us challenge on all fronts please. It's time to gamble big and give these "big six" cunts a real scare.

And when Isak says he only wants to go to Liverpool next June? What then?

Decent sources close to us said we didn't want to match your last bid never mind this one.

Understandably so as you've spent close to that first bid on two separate players already, with no sales managed yet.

Pretty certain this signing means Isak is off and so Liverpool will be footing the bill essentially.

You really are odd. Are you sure you're even a Newcastle fan?

I am just a worrier but also think if Isak has made it clear he does not want to stay and Eddie has sanctioned it we need as much money as possible off Liverpool. I have supported the club since the late sixties and can assure you I am a Newcastle supporter. Just used to being let down!

Why would he do that when it's not unlikely that the likes of Barcelona and Munich will be on the market by then to replace their aging number nines?

Setting myself up for a fall, I’m sure, but there’s echoes of Ferdinand replacing Cole, for me, without the months of Kitson in between. As good as Isak is individually, he’s hardly contributed a great deal to our overall team play in his time here. He’s spent most matches looking disconnected from the rest of the side, even while scoring prolifically.

Sesko might not match his goal tally, especially early on, but he might help the wingers and midfielders by giving them more to work with in terms of hold-up play and link play. We’ll actually have a forward who’ll challenge for aerial balls and give us a different outlet that way, too. It’s not sexy but it’s still a massive part of the game.

IMO it's a fair assessment to say that Isak is an amazing world class striker who's not necessarily conducive to the overall style of football we try to play. (He's good enough that he doesn't need to be)

I'm not confident that Sesko is that player, but we could conceivably find someone who makes us just as good (or better) without scoring as many goals.

Maybe he wants to play in the PL. Maybe he doesn't have a successfull season and Barcelona/Bayern won't be interested.

Fair enough mate. Just surprised any Newcastle fan would paint PIF giving Liverpool the money to buy Isak of us as "ideal scenario". Sounds like the sort of thing I'd expect to read on rawk.

I think Šeško could thrive with 2 flyers either side of him. One area I think he’ll be better than Isak is with his back to goal.

I think you're kidding yourself if you think Isak hasn't burnt his bridges and doesn't end up at Anfield by the end of August.

I'm a nice person that wouldn't harm a fly* except when it comes to sports, where I  turn into a spiteful shit. Isak must stay. If Mo Johnson can sign for Rangers, I'm sure we can forgive Isak for a season if he keeps scoring.

Then we sell another one of our prized assets, or we take the hit on a points deduction. Jezus, we cannot fear of the worst case scenario let dictate our strategy if we are to make inroads into catching up with these teams that think they can have a free run at our best players by turning their heads promising salaries we aren't allowed to offer.
