The problem is Leipzig also wanted a ton of the fee upfront.

It's been 24 hrs now with no further movement and now we're getting these kind of reports coming in.

Leipzig were so tough to deal with they sent Arsenal packing twice. I'm just not 100% certain this is going to end in Man United's favour.

But lets see. They've got a former Red Bull man in house, so maybe he can convince them and get some favours due to his connections.

It wasn’t just RB, Arsenal were tired of Šeško and agent.  That’s where we might exit.

When he does sign for Man U I just don’t see a world where a front 3 of Cunha, Šeško and Mbuemo doesn’t absolutely murder teams. If they add Baleba into the mix and Amorim’s style of play I think they’ll be right back up there.

I suspect we just stuck a PIF intern in the Leipzig office so that it looks as if we haven't given up. And that means Manure can't haggle the price down in the absence of any competition. [emoji38] The minute we pull out, or sign another striker, then the haggling begins. [emoji38]

They’re haggling now.

They saw our bid and want to get him for less.  It’s not going to happen.

can just imagine Ratcliffe's thinking..

this is absolutely ridiculous... player is best in class and wants to come to the biggest football club in the world... but then you have these clubs that try to exploit Manchester United... biggest football club in the world...etc

Offer Leipzig the money we are apparently willing to spend on Nicolas Jackson, then. 80 million pounds. Take it or leave it. If that doesn't get him, at least Leipzig can then demand the same from Manure.

We are well past this stage.

Ornstein has already confirmed that our bid was accepted.

Sesko and his camp are giving Man United the chance to match it, but they are struggling.

If they fail to match the fee and terms we did, only God knows what happens next. If we're still hanging about does that suggest he has said he will join us? No idea.

Wasn't fussed about him to start with. All this reported stuff about him/his agent makes me think he'd be a nightmare and still has it all to prove in the PL.

No, leave the offer on the table so that Man U can't underpay in their haggling and then let them take that risk.

He might well work out, but right now I'd far rather have Wissa just to guarantee having a proven striker for the season.

Man United quibbled with Brentford for weeks just to fold.  They will do the same here.

Its simple form RBs perspective.  Match the bid.

Would hope RB will play hard ball as they've a higher bid waiting to be accepted

Brentford wanted £70m up front and we got him for £65m+£6m in performance based add-ons across 4 instalments, allowing us to keep a sizeable cash balance to go after Sesko/Baleba.

If that's what you call folding, then I guess we folded.

This is a bit odd like. Reports were that Leipzig had accepted both offers and Sesko had accepted both contracts.

Only the Newcastle bid was accepted according to Ornstein.

Feels like there's legs in this still, still nothing from the Sesko, Leipzig, or our camp, just Man Utd "feel" mass reported and we still have reps there?

It’s done Man Utd are just ironing out the details they were £5m apart do we really think Man Utd can’t close that gap

I think their could end up being a bit of Dunkirk spirit and the world is against us kind of vibe  which could end up raising the atmosphere and performance

Even if it fell through, we shouldn’t go back for someone who has just turned us down.
