Yeah I make no mention of Isak he's irrelevant imo. He's done as far as im concerned.

It's why I'm curious as to what people's expectations are for this season, if your goal isn't champions League (I think it's beyond us this season tbh) then getting someone with a high ceiling in is the play.

I mention Isak in that there is no guarantee of Champions League even with a world class striker, I don’t think any club can guarantee Champions League.

What I have seen so far this season is that we have played what would be considered as rivals for Champions League places, looked the better team in both but struggled with not having a striker on the pitch.

If we had either Strand Larsen or Wissa (or both) available for the first 2 games then we would likely be on more than one point now, although no guarantee, and a good chance we can carry this form on throughout the season.

I normally shy away from the "well name someone!" question because that is the job of our scouting team, but considering the attributes Howe still insists our signings have and it being this late in the window, who is there? Realistically.

I'd rather we went for a punt tbh, but again not sure where that player is.

this is what i have been saying for a week now mate; I did the annoying thing of just looking at the top 5-6 leagues in europe and finding strikers within an age bracket who have scored mid-teens in the league. it was absolutely slim pickings. I don't have the knowlege or resources or time to find / look for an isak type of striker who was heralded after hitting double digts and then having a sub 10 league goal season.

I get that Strand Larsen seems pretty meh but I actually like the idea as a Wilson replacement. He gets goals. That’s what you want him for. He’s an old school proper centre forward. Big, strong, harasses CBs, can finish with both feet and his head. Really excellent scoring numbers in a terrible Wolves team. With the service we should be able to provide, this is the type of player we would want on the end of those crosses.

For 60m pounds this is quite terrible and we look like idiots

Who else can we sign with a goals per 90 of .49 thats cheaper?

No one, at least not with that record coming in the PL. People just don't like the idea because it's an unfashionable name coming from an unfashionable club. If it was some lad who'd been warming the bench at Madrid for a couple years with a the odd La Liga goal to his name they'd be way more interested.

Wolves fans don't seem to rate him and reckon he's not even worth 30 million

While I'll always listen to fans that see him every week, you often see players who are key players in a struggling team move to a stronger team and look twice the player. Off the top of my head, Wijnaldum is a good example.

Strand Larsen's not an exciting player but he looks a smart finisher who can finish moves. That's what we're crying out for. What we lose in creativity, we'll gain in having a target for crosses and hold up play.

He had the second-highest shot conversion rate in the PL last season. Behind....Chris Wood.[emoji38] But seriously he scores with one out of four shots taken.

And in a team with the 16th most shots in 24/25.

He'll score if he comes here.
