I think he'd be a good signing for us personally. Not an "exciting" name, but a player that could really benefit from some of the delivery we get into the box. 14 goals in a shite Wolves team isn't too shabby.

He'd be alright aye, just isn't worth anything close to what we will be rinsed for. Can't help but think that profile can be bought elsewhere for less.

Getting the Wilson replacement is proving hard enough, I don’t see Isak being replaced at this late stage.

If anything, last night demonstrated that any striker capable of scoring double figures in the Premier League should do pretty well in this team.

If we can get this guy at an admittedly eye-watering price, it'll be a good result and some justification for waiting to find an appropriate player rather than BEING NEGLIGENT!!! / gambling on someone far less proven.

We'll get rinsed for anyone at this stage, even clubs abroad will know we're desperate.

This is where I’m at. I remember saying last season he’d be a great pickup and someone put me right on here saying Wolves had an obligation to make the move permanent. He then went on a run of missing some decent chances. So I thought I must have been chatting shit as per usual

I just guess with all the uncertainty around Isak and the fees we are getting quoted. Anyone we sign is going to seem like a downgrade on Isak and a tough act to follow. Hard to see players coming in for such big money as an actual Wilson replacement.

But I like what he brings and I think he’d flourish in our team if we were to sign him.

Once we get the Wilson replacement we’re not so desperate and clubs can’t exploit us as much. Right now if Isak leaves we need two strikers and we’ll have to pay way over, that’s before finding willing sellers so late.

This guy was so irritating during the Sesko saga, but he ended up being right I think

Hopefully he's also right in this instance because I think Strand Larsen will do really well in this team, and gives us a forward already settled into the Premier League who is ready to go.

It's absolutely vital thanks to Isak throwing the team under the bus.

We won't get that if we sell Isak. It's completely unrealistic to hope or expect ot. Best we can hope for is a solid experienced striker who can step in immediately and lead the line, and a prospect that is good enough to step in as back-up and rotation with the potential to become world class.

Isak wasn't world class when we signed him so not sure we necessarily need that

At this stage just a good striker (ideally 2) will do wonders in this side as we will create plenty of chances

He wasn't but he viewed as someone with the potential to be world class hence the fee. When it comes to JSL he's just your average player who's unlikely to actually improve.

I'm sure we can all recognise this would be a panic signing. Chris wood if you will but 3x more expensive.

A big, physical target man should suit our style of play extremely well and would add a dimension we’ve lacked. Useful against a low block too having a big man we can send crosses at.

(Also think Isak would do extremely well working off a target man FWIW)

The issue is anyone that has the potential to be world class is going for around £80m and at this stage of the window I suspect it's closer to £100m, especially to us

A middle ground exists though, someone who can come in do a good job and either become a rotation option or be sold.

JSL is really expensive and it might become a bit of a noise.

Overpaying for a decent player isn't the end of the world.

Yes, it restricts us from buying a better one further down the line and ties up money in wages as we'll overpay there too. But we don't have a choice.

If we can reintegrate Isak, we'd have needed reliable cover anyway. And if we can't, then the striker needs to be someone proven. If we have to overpay 10 or even 20m on Strand Larsen or Wissa, just do it.
