Newcastle United vs. Manchester City: 22/11/25 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

The ideal situation is we win, play well, and it's a sign of a corner turned with better things to come. That seems a little bit fanciful at this point given how dysfunctional we are right now, but I'd also very happily take a classic crack-papering, blood-and-thunder, ugly performance and - hopefully - result. If we can't rouse ourselves at least to that (even if we come away with a narrow defeat) then I'll probably start worrying a bit. If we're carrying our listlessness into our home games then we've got problems.

1-1, Woltemade to volley one in off his hip or something.

We need to be fully switched on for this and they need to be off it if we're hoping for anything here. So long as we go out there and give it everything then I'll take whatever we get from this and move on to more winnable games.

The result matters less so here than a lot of other fixtures as we're long odds to win regardless.

What I'd really like to see is some semblance of identity, composure on the ball, a lot of effort, and solid changes ingame by Eddie.

Can we do that? Yes! Will we? I'm not feeling hugely optimistic given our form, however now is really the time in the season we need to pick it up lest we fall totally out of touch in the league.

Predictions: 🧠 0-2 ❤️ 2-1

I feel like we'll "turn up" at the very least. I'm not sure how cohesive the performance will be, but we always thrive as underdogs. So maybe we'll get a crack-papering (lovely turn of phrase, @Yorkie) win and that'll be enough to start to turn the ship around. Gagging for Hall to start at LB and that's it for the season, gives us such a different dimension. Burn can probably displace Botman at CB I reckon, can't say Botman is immune to frequent rotation at this moment in time.

Hate playing these, home or away. Our record against them is vile.

Half 5, freezing cold, under the lights, been struggling recently…..it should be a proper “us against the world” atmosphere and performance. We need it.
