TRon
cheers, i know it doesnt mean much but was wondering if i had just made it up dont see why we arent just going all out for one now anyway Well presumably because we don't want to potentially waste a lot of money in transfer fees and wages on a player who'll end up as a reserve and who is only then going to block the progress of the promising young left back that we've already got. I know you like Shane Ferguson, but as a defender he is completely unproven. Enrique has the speed and power to stop any attacker whatever his attributes, whereas Ferguson looks like he could be knocked over by a gust of wind. In fact he's already been knocked out of our optimistic hopes he could play this role through injury in the pre-season friendlies. Thank the lucky stars I say. Ikon
Imagine the reactions from us if he signed a new 5 year deal. Meltdown.

Despite his appearance, I don't think Ferguson is that much of a pushover. But my point is that if he's the number 3 left back, he won't get the right opportunities. Guest sicko2ndbest
In APs post match interview he says everyone who was fit played except Jose and Haris through injury. The way he said it made it sound like only Haris was rested because of injury Probably reading too much into it
alexf
i thought that too, plus the fact he didn't play against Darlington.

UpTheToon
Not a massive surprise he isn't playing. If he gets injured it will be harder to sell him.
Taylor Swift
Jose would probably make a good linebacker. Has the speed and height, but obviously needs more muscle.

Shak
By that criteria all of our players would make good linebackers FFS. Just have to add another 50% or so to their size and they're flying.
Belfast Boy
Has there been any reason giving for him being left out last night? Seems odd to take him at all if we dont plan on playing him.

Astroblack
Would rather keep Jose for the season than sell him. We don't do anything with the money anyway so might as well get as much as we can get out of him on the field. Let him leave on the free next season. I'm sure we'll find a decent left back on the cheap then.

Sifu
If he did injure his hamstring, then I guess an astro wouldn't be the best of pitches to play on.

durhamunigeordie
If he had a hamstring twinge earlier in the week then there is absolutely no point in risking him in a friendly a few days later, regardless of whether he declares himself fit or not.
