  1. Past hour
  2. Truly awful what happened that day. Watched "Unforgettable" last night. A documentary about the fire that had been on BBC 2 on Sunday. From the 1st sighting of any smoke to the whole stand being destroyed took about 5 mins. Loads naturally made their way to the back of the stand but with turnstiles etc locked there was no escape. Unimaginable the horror they must have went through. I'm sure myself and many other toon fans had sat in that stand when we played them in the league cup earlier that season. R.I.P to the 56 cruelly taken.
  3. Why can't we just keep our current crest but have a secondary simplified version for the shirts etc like Liverpool have done?
  4. It's our job to misinterpret and misrepresent everything you say, Froggy! You know the deal
  5. I've been told, categorically, that Barnes is NOT FOR SALE and DOESN'T want to leave. They're trying to build a squad here. Obviously that could change, so don't shoot the messenger, but that's how it stands today.
  6. Someone fire up the AI. Brexit Jim overseeing a sausage sizzle.
  7. Personally I think it will be quite close to this, at least in terms of the design approach and level of detail. It’s similar to the likes of Man City. It’ll be much closer to this than the minimalist ones like Juventus.
  8. We'll likely play 50+ games next season. Barnes will get lots of minutes. I expect we'll have 5 first-team attackers for 3 positions. The non-preferred 2 will play loads. Darwin Nunez is the 6th choice attacker for Liverpool - he's played 22 games in full worth of minutes. Making 45 appearances. Curtis Jones is the 4th choice CM, he's played 25 full games worth of minutes. It's going to cost £40m to replace Barnes. And that player will need time to get Howe'd. I just don't expect a massive turnover of players. Unless we have to because of FFP, which I don't it will. CL is £50m minimum these days. Then we can exploit FMV to our advantage with new deals.

    Alexander Isak

Never. All in for 2nd place and then he can bin the absolute meaningless shite off that is Sweden’s qualifiers. Get Gyokores to do the lifting given he’s been farmers leaguing all season.
  10. Don't know about you, but I fucking love BBQ's.
  11. Christ, their displays. I wouldn’t have felt so comfortable laughing at them if the daft twat who organised it wasn’t constantly on RTG claiming that wor flags was funded by the state of Saudi Arabia
  12. He said the next two summers i think so trips, schar, burn, lascelles may not get another rolling year. Targett is into his final year from next season? Willock and a few others will have shorter deals by then. Without extensions can see two summer windows of big change. Budget and wheeling dealing needs to allow multiple window investment.
  13. Was also linked in January, only young i think.
  14. They’d never do it. For dubious irrelevant reasons, but what would be so bad about reverting to this? Does what it needs to: Magpie ‘brand’, circular, easy to reproduce, river and castle keep represented.
  15. I don't want literal seahorses, and it looks a bit like the New York Yankees, but I'm impressed.
  16. Been linked with Besiktas striker Semih Kılıçsoy in the Turkish press. I can't say I know anything about him.
  17. Gordon and Barnes is a perfect combo for our LW cover for me. Different types for different situations. If we sell Barnes we are going to need a new LW anyways, so it doesn’t get us far.
  18. I don't think we need all of that at all. I don't see a world where we sign 9 first-team players for a 25-man squad. We've got a winning culture in the squad, we won't look to revamp it in one summer window. GK (with one leaving) RB - no need to buy here unless Trippier is leaving. Krafthu is staying another year. CB - only need one. Schar, Botman, Burn, New CB, expect Lascelles to stay on too. LB - Maybe if we sell Targett or it's a free transfer. Why would you spend money on a third choice LB? CM - again probably only 1 if we think Miley can step up. Expect one of Longstaff or Willock to be sold - not both. RW - Yep there's an open squad role for that. Might also need to play ST. ST - Only think we can get someone if there's a great deal to be had or a free transfer. Why would you spend big money on a back-up striker?
  19. I could see it; especially if he isn’t content to compete with Gordon (who I think is a better player). I like Barnes, and would be happy to keep him. His contributions and his stats are good this season, but I don’t quite think he is at the level we want. I think we can do better. Too many unforced errors/heavy touches for me to be clamouring to keep at all costs. Barnes, Willock, Longstaff, Targett = £80m+ l; add to this an estimated £100m currently able to spend, and we could be pushing the boat out this Summer and pulling up trees next season.
  20. Especially before a match v Arsenal
  21. The Champ has put in a horrible title defence. Aiming for a top 25 finish in the NO league. First time in a number of seasons I won't have finished in the top 10.
  22. Definitely favourites but having watched first leg Cov can definitely create opportunities.
  23. I actually quite like that! Definitely the best of a bad bunch, at the very least.

    Harvey Barnes

i think it was just because it was such a tense game. finely balanced at 1-0 but they were dominating. we were desperate for a second goal and desperate for a win. any bad touch or loss of the ball by any player was causing moans... i just think we were terrified they were going to equalise.
