Yup we are cutting it fine, deals done this late always smacks of panic buying tbh Weren't we linked with him 2-3 years ago too though? Yes, him and Vertonghen in the same summer iirc

It's laughable really. Three dodgy centre halves protected by Darren Fletcher. Mata & Di Maria in centre midfield, but don't worry the wingbacks will help...no wait it's Valencia & Young.
-
Be surprised if they take any risks with Costa given what happened in the CL final.

No, you get a free one every week that rolls over for one week (so you can only ever have a max of 2 free saved up) if you don't use it. You can make as many transfers as you want after that but it'll cost you 4 points per transfer

I'd say there's a chance this could be televised. There's some really uninspiring choices, all of the big teams have home draws against shite with the exception of probably Arsenal where at least Sky would be able to spin the "all Premier League tie" card. Probably more likely to go for Liverpool/Boro over us though and take advantage of Liverpool's advertising revenue.

Diego Costa has done his hamstring in training, out for a month or so

Zaha going to Palace on loan

This match will be like two bald men fighting over a comb. Warnock won't give a fuck about this if Palace are still near the bottom and I doubt we will either

The comparisons to last season are plentiful, very similar start but then HBA bailed him out against Fulham. Also in last season's home game against Palace HBA came off the bench and again bailed him out providing the assist for Cisse's goal. The point I'm making is the way we are playing now we get the ball wide a lot. Cabella is being doubled up on already because there is no point in marking Dummett, and if Gouffran's over that side then again, you may aswell just let him cut inside and hit it off you as that is what always happens. Alternatively, Janmaat gets forward and either crosses to one person or cuts inside and shoots due to lack of alternatives. HBA would really be the ideal man to be playing wide right in this formation, we've had plenty of the ball and could do with his magic in lieu of a goalscoring striker. Unfortunately, we're managed by a fuckwit, so I'm looking forward to Saturday's 0-0.

We can't? What's the point in playing Obertan when we know he isn't good enough? Where even is Yanga-Mbiwa? Obertan is s*** but MYM has been injured for a few weeks tbf, he might not have played anyway but it is what it is. Injured or "injured"? Apart from reports he was doubtful for Man City due to a slight knock in training (one and a half week ago), unless I've missed it, we haven't heard anything about any injury have we? Injured is injured is injured. It's not like the club publish medical records, you just have to believe whatever shite you get fed. He's probably as injured as Tiote is

Collingwood Insurance in the Roeder era having to make a tough choice between Milner & Taylor every week. Good times.

"Might be a legit reason for him to be there"

Sherwood was on that Fantasy football show with Merson, said he still needed his last coaching badge to be able to manage in the Premiership, if that matters

Actually harries the opposition and forces mistakes, nice to see. Loves trying to steal an interception too, very useful.

Obertan's done ok in a couple of pre-season games and it earns him a reprieve. He's had about 1 good game in his whole time here. In that time, he's stormed out after being left off the bench, basically been told he can leave and played dog shit anytime he's been near the pitch - and I don't just mean going forward, even when he "tracks back" i.e. Pardew's fetish, he's shite at that too. He's literally useless, and has no plusses to cancel out the many minuses I've just listed. Ben Arfa brings so much more than this utter cocknose but it's one rule for one and other rules for everybody else.
-
Makes me sick that Obertan gets on over this lad. Doesn't make any sense

Southampton look neat and tidy but have nothing in the final third. JWP's set pieces seem to be the only threat

I used to live next door to him as a kid, thought he would be more clued up than that

How is this still 0-0?
