Guest Spark
Can't believe that Derek can emerge from this a sympathetic figure but, there you go. Now the BBC website is saying JFK will not directly scout players nor negotiate contracts and that he'll just be a go between the first team and Ashley. He'll be like that annoying little yapper of a dog who lays on the couch and growls at everyone who walks into the room. My guess is that Kinnear was desperate to get back into football and Ashley is paying him a pittance. He's using Kinnear as his sledge hammer to eliminate Derek, with whom he's become bored, and hopefully Pardew, who was never worth an 8 year contract. It might be, in a Machiavellian way, the right move but Ashley's machinations always blow up in his face, much like Hyacinth in "Keeping up Appearances" Extremely random reference but I think you might be right! So who is in charge of negotiating contracts etc.? Good question, wish I knew the answer. It's just mental. Can't get my head around it at all. Got a feeling there are more changes on the way. TRon
What this says to me is that Ashley was angrier with Pardew's performance last season than we thought. He's brought Kinnear in despite knowing that it might piss off Pardew pal Llambias, and now we are getting the fallout. It's left the club in the lurch but maybe we can emerge stronger for it. Guest bimpy474
A massive overeaction to how shit we were last season. Just sack the useless hoofball League 1 manager or rip the club to shreds bringing in a insane maniac.

In fact, probably just expecting pretty much the same as the the majority on here who were also angry enough with Pardew to want him sacked for his part in the season. AyeDubbleYoo
I don't mind if he was angry enough with Pardew's performance to sack him, I just wish he had sacked him instead of going through this fucking circus.

That's just the way Ashley works, it's not as if we haven't seen all this before with Llambezy being one of his chief henchmen. He didn't have a problem when the same tactic was used to force Keegan out, now it's his pal Pardew it seems he's getting sensitive.

His idea wasn't necessarily wrong. If we'd kept Pardew, kept Llambias, and brought in a respected technical/football director I'd have been positive going into next season. It's the execution of the idea that has been ludicrous and damaging beyond belief.
Guest DebuchyAndTheBeast
Makes me wonder whether Kinnear wasn't talking in a coded language when he gave that TS interview. All misspelt names to leave the boat

That is what makes me the most angry, they had the chance to bring in someone who could make a positive difference to the club and everyone would have been pretty happy, instead the brought in JFK
B-more Mag
What a fucking mess. It'd be comforting to think this is all part of a brilliant master plan by Ashley, but I think we all know that's not true. He's a seat of the pants type guy who has been lucky enough for that approach to work in the limited world of retail sporting goods. There's no evidence that he's a brilliant business strategist or tactician. There's no reason to assume that he is rational with respect to the club based on his success with Sports Direct. Flip
Get in. Like I've said. Kinnear in, Llambias out is a side-step. If Llambias had stayed it would've been a step in the wrong direction.

Guest JS
Lest we forget this is the man that ran naked across our pitch, openly admitted to wanting to punch Keegan and was a big part of all the fucking shit we've had over the years. Good riddance - 1 down 3 to go.

Dokko
Maybe kinnear can speak to footballing people better than Llambias, thus helping us when sitting round the table negotiating with clubs and players. Maybe he's a bit more endearing when he's not trying to defend himself, his job and his existence and maybe that passion that has led us to believe he's a mouthy twat transfers better when in a different situation like talking to clubs. If so then we go ahead and bring in say Poyet when Pardew walks, is that not a better setup than the one that finished the season? Kinnear loves football, Llambias doesn't, there my just be something in that which could help us.
alexf
Convinced he was almost entirely behind getting rid of Hughton if it's true Pardew was his mate and not Ashley's. Good riddance.

huss9
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=G5IFkU8zciA Well if I have a whim, I either sink or swim, It never really seems to matter either way, And if a bill comes in, Just throw it in the bin, Because I'm sure to get some more another day. Llambezi, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llam, I'm on me way, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llam. I ought to face life's complications, But I haven't got the inclination, And I never learned the hang of facing My responsibilities. So when the bailiff comes explain to him, I haven't got a thing to give to him, But if he wants to come round visiting me, This is where I'll be: Llambezi, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llam, I'm on me way, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llam. Well if my bank should phone, Tell them I ain't at home, Just say I packed my plastic bag and went away; As for the landlord's rent, I spent it on a tent, So if he's asking questions, you'll know what to say. Llambezi, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llam, I'm on me way, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llambezi, Llam.

How is he going to negotiate for a player when he gets 75% of players names wrong? I'm sure potentially signings will be highly impressed by him! Maybe when he's not reeling them off infront of a camera or being interview he doesn't get as many wrong, especially if its only one player. I'd prefer anyone else, I'm just hoping there is actually some logic behind this that will help. Imagine Keegan in that role?
henke
There is literally nothing that could happen next that would surprise me. If Ashley dug up princess Diana and Pardew done a press conference with his hand up her arse operating her like a ventriloquists dummy i wouldn't be shocked. It's like watching Billy the Fish. Tried to wrap my head around it when you initially said this. I Still am. People can't for the love of god think that Llambias is a better man than Kinnear. I'm sorry but have some lost the plot here? Llambias is a big reason to why we're here and I'm not talking about Kinnear, I'm talking about stuck with Pardew for another 7 years and no future. I don't necessarily agree with TT, but like he says we're nowhere near in a worse situation than last time around. If anything we're exactly at the same level. Get in. Like I've said. Kinnear in, Llambias out is a side-step. If Llambias had stayed it would've been a step in the wrong direction. Joe Kinnear, International Businessman of the Year, 1990 - 2013.
