Newcastle 0 - 1 Hull City (FA Cup) - 14/01/09 - Post match reaction from page 21

Disappointed we lost but staying up was always far more important than a good cup run. We've got loads of injuries and we dominated it tonight. Could easily have won it but we didn't. That's the way it goes sometimes.

Aye, but the biggest problem is this happens alot now, FA Cup or not.

We could have won the West Ham game, we could have won the Stoke game, we could have won the Wigan game, we could have won the Man City game....etc...

My complaints tonight aren't about going out of the FA Cup. It's about yet another situation where Newcastle have failed to see off a team that if they'd taken their chances, they could have been high and dry by half time. It's worrying now.

Contrary to popular opinion this isn't the end of the world.

Bollocks. We had a home draw with a great tie to look forward to if we won against Hull 2nd 11. There is nothing good about this in the slightest.

so who's fault is it?

kinnear's or owen's (who's missed a total of 8 chance's in the 2 legs), or fat mike's

Well what do you think

all owen is fucking just an average striker, kinnear is a cunt and i've had enough of ashley

the best thing for this club is to get relegated and start again

Oh have a period about it you little bitches.  Anyone surprised by this result and who hasn't been in a coma for the last 3 years needs their head examined.

Just like Liverpool, right?

Aye but what a blow to confidence. Losing to one of the worst form teams isnt what we needed. :(

Reminds me of losing to Blackburn last season when Derbyshire scored late on. It happens.

Just got to get on with it and keep plugging away. If anyone wants to stop following the team then that's their decision but I'm a bit embarrassed for them tbh.

Thats a point I've been making for several weeks now. We could quite easily be sitting a good 10-12 points higher than where we are now if a handful of those games went our way.

Apart from spurs, I can't really think of a game that we have perhaps stolen. If teams do it to us, why can't we do it to them? It only takes a swing of the foot/head.

And the likes of Alan Shearer 9 can fuck off with constantly berating people for posting their honest feelings, here's some more:

You are a cuntbasket.

Don't be fucking daft. We're not coming back up for a loooong time if we go down.

Some of the idiots on here need a fucking full frontal brain examination.

Going down to the Championship would be good would it? We'd 'bounce straight back up'?

Like Derby, Watford, Charlton, Leeds, Ipswich, Norwich, Southampton, Wolves, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday all thought they would? Get a fucking grip. Relegation would be the worst thing to happen to this club, at all.

I'd rather we lost this game and got three points pretty soon, but I'm still seething after that performance.

In a bizzare kind of way, i agree. i do not agree that Mr Kinnear is a cunt, I think he is doing his upmost best.

Would love to know what they mean by 'Starting again', going down to League 2 and then working back up I presume?

Maybe not but it's hardly this "DARKEST DAYS / THESE ARE THE END TIMES" bit that's being thrown about.  Disappointing but not wholly unexpected is as far as I'd go to describe this.

Never happening, not until Martins is back anyway. Owen misses sitters and Carroll is just plain shit, so the goals, they are not a coming.

Didnt expect to get through this one but it saves the embarrassment of being done by Millwall.  The squad we have is pathetic, the fitness is also.  Mr T-shirt salesman is learning a lesson in easy come, easy go, on the money front with his investments now and where is the casino cashier amongst this debacle, hiding away.  Some fucking job he's got.  Will no doubt fuck off with the rest of them when the ship goes down.

Some people are reading far too much into this by the way.

A team with something like 11 or 12 players missing gets beaten in the cup by another teams reserve players.

That automatically means we are going down, does it? Fuck off. If you think that's the case, try the RELEGATIONLOADOFSHITEOMETER and post in there with the rest of the doom mongers.

Honestly, some of the people on these boards are fucking brain deads.
