Will Barton's return lead to better football?

And we're kidding ourselves if we think Barton will play. It's just another body to get behind Nolan and Smith in the pecking order - he'll probably be played on the fucking wing

Am I the only one who thought that tackle wasn't worthy of a red card btw?

Just watched it again now. I think it was a tad harsh, but in the modern game (against foreign players) you just can't do that sort of thing. Simple as that really.

Nah, I remember saying that it wasn't a red at the time. He went in strong, which is no problem, but when it's Barton you get a reputation, even though on field he's not really that kind of Cattermole/cuntish type of player.

Will probably be dumped out wide at the expense of Routledge.

Hughton won't have the stones to drop Barton.

The worst thing is, it will probably be the opposite, dropping Wayne to accomodate Smith and Butt away from home and shoving Barton out on the right.

That's so true, and so painfully predictable.

Joey Barton has targeted the Championship clash with Coventry City on February 17 for his comeback from a far more serious injury than first thought.

Barton will return to training tomorrow after being out for more than four months with what was believed to be a broken metatarsal.

But his recovery has been delayed because the full diagnosis was that he had fractured what is known as the host bone in the foot, rather than just a single metatarsal.

A side that includes a fit Barton is far more appealing than what we have. If Hughton has the opportunity to play:

Harper

Simpson Williamson Taylor Jose

Routledge Barton Guthrie Jonas

Loven Ameobi

For at least 50% of our final fixtures we will be sure to go up

Colo has to keep his place in the team the way he's played this season.

Williamson is better than Colo now, based on one game?

On the last 2 games he has been better than Colo hence my choice?

Swap Colo for Simpson and move Taylor right back and we have a pl defence
