At the moment both Balotelli and Sterling are doing things they are not comfortable doing. Once Sturridge comes back they can both to being what they are. Tiresias Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 They did seem to attack a bit more dynamically before the ball got to Suarez last season, they were very quick to get the ball forward and made a lot of chances like that. However yes, so much hinged on Suarez's brilliance. I also think they hit their stride last season in the second half when some other teams were falling away, (we did similar if less dramatic in the season we finished 5th) and I wonder if that rather disguised that there are big weaknesses in the team. Just reading GC's October 1 and these comparisons seem pretty much spot on, honestly. Been watching Liverpool a bit more critically the last few weeks and Rodgers seems to be falling in all the same traps as Pardew usually does. Also, their off-the-ball movement is brutal.
