This thread title should be "Kevin Nolan: Untouchable?" until Hughton drops him or has the balls to actually sub him off in a game where he's clearly being useless and/or is gassed out. It's exactly what we had when Allardyce was being a dick and was refusing to drop or subsitute Alan Smith (something like 28 consecutive Premiership starts iirc, with no goals, before Keegan came in and dropped him).

He's playing far too far forward at home. He is at his best running from a deep lying midfield role not this 1 of the striker. Its plain as day, hence his performance at Everton opposed to the last 2 home games where he has been less influential.

Ffs man. He was very good on Saturday, people gave him credit for it. However for large parts of last season and this he's been poor, and the criticism is fully justified when it is given. Players get criticised when they play poorly and praised when they play well, it's a simple as that.

He's obviously not 'useless' but he's not exactly brilliant either. I think Tiote really helped on Saturday, and now we might have the legs in midfield to allow us to carry Nolan in the team. However we'll see, I'm not gonna forget the multitude of substandard performances and declare him an excellent player in one go, but if he keeps up his form from Saturday I'm happy to see him in the team.

Back to standard.

Poor today.

Cant believe this guy is our captain. We need someone who gets the players motivated and puts in a cracking performance to be an example to the other players. If Nolan cant do that at home against Stoke then we have absolutely no hope.

Yup, instead he spends his time on the pitch clowning around and being goofy. A silly, fat mess of a player.

Barton can thread a ball through thats why, just didnt have many options. Stoke defended pretty well.

Nolan did well last week, did little today & should have been brought off. Simple really.

We all know he can, but he constantly misplaced it or got caugh in possession. While Nolan didn't set the world alight he got involved and contibuted to a lot of our attacks.

"Attacks"? I can only remember him touching the ball on two occasions in the last half an hour or so.

If we're hammering players offering nothing to the side at the moment, it's time to invite Wayne Routledge along to the headmasters officer for a caning.

The lads offered bog all, all season so far.
