So today Spurs have managed to convince QPR to pay way over the odds for a player they dont even need and have convinced City to pay over half the salary of a player they desperately need. How the f*** do they do it man?

To be honest, it's not even funny. It's one of the main reasons they're now a damn good club. Constantly rip people off.

Imagine if we still had Graham Carr too...

Queens Park Rangers have agreed an initial fee of £7.5m for Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson.

The England international has yet to undergo a medical but has agreed to the move in principal, after being told he would be third-choice centre back at Spurs this season.

The proposed deal could eventually be worth up to £10m.

Nottingham Forest will be due 10% of the fee from a sell-on clause inserted when they sold Dawson to Spurs in 2005.

And we dont? Look at how much we paid for Cabaye man, it's outrageous given his quality.

It's not really the same. His clause was fair game to other clubs too. We didnt set the price.

You've only done it since you came back up, though, Spurs have been at it for years.

Still can't believe anybody would pay 7.5m upfront for Dawson. I mean, he's not terrible, he'll do a job for QPR at the level they are at... but up to 10m?

Eh? And what Spurs are doing isnt fair game? Nobody forces clubs with a gun to pay silly money for their players.

To be frank, can't blame a player to try to test himself at a big club if he really believes he has the ability for it.

This has been my take on it.  A lot of these guys will honestly think they have a chance of making the first team on a regular basis at these clubs and oh yeah, get to pick up a decent wedge while attempting it.  The egos on these footballers have to be big, they'll believe they can make it.

£9 mill for Dawson? Has the world gone completely bonkers? madness

The Carroll Index now applies for the whole Premiership, regardless of timing.

Allen £15m

Fletcher £12m

Dawson £9m

King Kenny ruined the transfer market for some time to come.
