Mike Ashley

here's the thing, by the standards set out by the club before the season (top 10 finish) he is meeting his performance goals and also avoiding europe.

This result could easily be the kick start to not achieving Top 10 though.

or it could just be another bump along the road and we finish in the top 10 anyway. At which point ashleys won again, sold best player for £20m and stayed in top 10 and avoided the nasty europa league.

Freddy Shepherd was in varying degrees an idiot, an oaf, a t*** and a blaggard.

But he cared what fans thought about him, even if it was only for his only vanity. And if the fans were p*ssed off about a manager enough, it would influence if he sacked him. If the fans were p*ssed off about results enough, it would make him try and sign someone to fix it, even if it might have been the wrong player.

Under Ashley the fans don't have any power what so ever, because he gives absolutely zero f***s.

Good point. I thought Shepherd was a complete fuckwit (and still do) but at least he took responsibility.

There mightn't even be a Newcastle United if Freddie Shepherd was still here. We'd have done a Portsmouth or a Leeds, or maybe even worse...

That's not saying I support Ashley though, just an observation.

Or we could have had Shepherd for one more year, with Abu Dhabi Group taking over us and we'd have done a Man City.

I could do things to this man that would make Patrick Bateman look like a mild mannered florist.

Yeah, like defend Pardew. We're all so impressed.

Yeah because everything changes when Pardew goes.

f***ing retard. (Same goes for Mick)

A lot can change when a manager goes, just look at what's going on down the road. But then you are one of those who has defended our current manager to the hilt as he loses match after match to the wearside scum.

I think, Tron - you live in a fantasy world. How have I defended the man ''TO THE HILT!' today?

The answer - obvious to most , but perhaps not you - is that I have not. However you're ready there at the top of the hill to hoy muck down so whilst you think you're doing me a disservice your hands are covered in mess...

You haven't been defending Pardew? Maybe I read your posts wrong and need a Happy Face chart to see where I was going wrong.

Tron - to see where you've been going wrong/rectify it we need two things

1. A condom to give to yer dae

2. a time machine

Wew

They have one bit of power, and they refuse to use it.

which player is next on the list to leave and  make a huge profit for his pockets?

I think the only player who would command big money is Remy and he is not our player - possibly Krul but not sure is his stock is as high as it was 2 year ago

anything for krul is a profit to Ashley though - even £6m. then promote Elliot to first team.

FWIW the only people really truly saying we'd have done a Leeds or Portsmouth under Freddie Shepherd was Mike Ashley, Chris Mort, and Derek Llambias and they peddled all of that s*** into the media who gladly lapped it up like starved dogs.

So, in retrospect - the current owner who couldn't do due diligence and has lied and deceived us over and over telling us that should probably be taken with a grain of salt. IMO.

Doesn't for me.

Not one mention of Pardews inept tactics

That goes without saying, but Pardews going nowhere as long as he is Ashleys puppet. I meant more the bit Newcastle United is still a big part of peoples lives but that fat twat has sucked all the fun out of it.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. He's being absolved of alot of blame by alot of your 'general fans' (i.e those that don't post on forums etc.)

There is no fucking way we would have done a Leeds, its laughable to even contemplate it

Having said that, we did drop down a league...

Under fucking Ashley!

People still spouting about the doing the Leeds under Shepherd only need to look at the source of that rumor and should probably end that rumor or at least reconsider their position.

I'd take Freddie Shepherd over this fucking prick any day of the fucking week. I'd rejoice man. Shepherd's ego and bad decisions were shocking, but in no way was he as cretinous as Mike Ashley and his cronies.

Agreed, and I was vehemently against FS.

I have to think FS is constantly trying to figure a way back into the club via another group where he stays behind.

A FFS return would be some WWE epic man. Vince McMahon style. He'd be lapping up the savior card and go and sign Toni Kroos and Marco Reus or something

Whatever the financial state the club was in when he left (and I'm still not certain it was in great shape), I still question Shepherd's decision making in his last few years.

Sacking Sir Bobby... appointing Souness, spending all the sponsorship money on Owen.... £9m for Luque... then appointing Roeder.... then Allardyce.

I'm sure his heart was in the right place, compared to the current incumbant, but dear me, some of the problems we had were down to Shepherd.
