Arsenal vs Newcastle United - 12/03/12 @ 8pm (live on Sky) - pre-match thread

I fully expect to see RVP camped on Williamsons shoulder all night, so not really expecting a result in our favour.

RvP is totally one footed so I expect him to play a bit more on the right and cut in to shoot with his left. So we need Colo to stay tight with him, he wont shoot with his right.

Is this a whoosh?

If it's true Raylor is out reckon we might see:

              Tiote - Cabaye

Obertan                          Jonas

                      HBA

                        Ba

Arsenal will dominate possession so keep Tiote and Cabaye deeper and try to hit with pace on the break - Ba should be able to find space among their dodgy defenders.

Someone needs to start up a Demba Ba chant to the tune of Vindaloo.

Demba Ba

Demba Ba, Demba Ba na na

Demba Ba

Demba Ba

Demba Ba, Demba Ba na na

Demba Ba

And we all love Demba Ba

He's gonna score one more than you

Might have already been done, dunno.

Hmm... dreamt I overslept and awoke up to us being in a 2-0 lead (suddenly playing as the home team), Ben Arfa and Obertan with the goals. We still managed to lose 2-1 (now the away team) so I wouldn't place any bets based on me being the next Nostradamus

Also dreamt I was smoking some weed with Sylvester Stallone, good stuff.

If you got offered a free ticket to this match but had to sit in the 'Home' end would you go?

Yes, but only the basis that I couldn't get a ticket in the away end. If it was a choice between a free ticket in the home end and paying for a ticket in the away end it would be the away end every time.

Yes, my mate works for arsenal and get 2 free season tickets, so I'm using one of those 2nigt.

Guest MrSundlofer

I have never seen us win a game when watching it in a sports bar, in 15-20 attempts since 2008. And I will watch the game tonight in a sports bar...

The golden rule for sitting in the home end at an away game is: as long as you can restrain yourself emotionally (if we score, decisions going for/against us), then things should be fine.

Sat in the home end for Forest away in the Championship, didn't enjoy it at all. Just wanted to be with the toon fans behind the goal who were creating a quality atmosphere all game. Don't think I could do it again, would much rather watch it in the pub.

Back on topic, really looking forward to the game tonight. Hoping we can contain them for the first 30 minutes or so, then I think we'll have a decent chance of nicking a win. If they get a goal early on I think we'll collapse again  :undecided:
