TBG
“When my agents told me Arsenal were interested, I said yes straight away! There was no question, no debate, no doubt, nothing! You don’t turn down a club like Arsenal. A lot of players would like to be in my shoes right now. “This is another dimension. If you compare the training grounds for example, nothing at Lille or Newcastle can match the Arsenal one. It is another world. http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/145/104/130998629900120110725-22047-o4ie3r.png

George Bailey
Lads made a step up in class. Sad and unpallatable as it is to admit it. Probably find most things done with that bit more professionalism and touch of arrogance/class that makes all the differnce. like the CEO of Costcutter or Farmfoods moving to Waitrose or Marks and Sparks. Things just done to a higher standard and that touch more 'classy'.

Guest firetotheworks
Debuchy is comfortably a better player than Beye, dunno how or why this was brought up into a debate. Beye f***ed off to Aston Villa because we got relegated, Debuchy is going to a team that will be challenging for the title whilst cementing his place as France's number 1 right back. That proves nothing nor is it even the point that was brought up. Beye was better for us in the time that he played for us than Debuchy was in the time that he played for us. That's the entirety of the point.
Ronaldo
Debuchy's a better footballer, Beye by far the better defensively.
Lenny
did I read that we were getting a new or updated training center/facilities sometime? we had to upgrade out youth stuff to make the top grade for the rankings afaik He's not really specified the training ground facilities, just the training ground - he could be referring to everything from facilities to what's actually done on the training ground. Based on what we know about our non playing staff it's highly likely that the actual training completed at Arsenal and us is streets apart.
HawK
Beye vs Debuchy is obviously an opinion, both very good for us while they were here. Personally I rate Debuchy more, and going on 'stats' wasn't he the best right back in Europe last season at some point ?
AyeDubbleYoo
I prefer Debuchy as well, he's proper quality and will obviously go on to sustain it for a top club and his national team. I think Habib was partly loved so much because it had been eons since we had a decent RB.

Dave
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mathieu-debuchy-says-used-newcastle-8998932 Mathieu Debuchy says he used Newcastle United as a stepping stone for a bigger Premier League club. The Frenchman – speaking to the media in his home country – stated it was always more than likely he would use Newcastle as a platform for better things. When asked if it would be a stepping stone after signing for Newcastle, he said: “Yes, it was expected. “After that, you never know what can happen, but I had already talked to my agents, and Newcastle was clearly a step before going into one of the table top clubs. But Debuchy says Newcastle is still a club close to his heart. He said: “I still had a great year and a half in Newcastle. I regret having left the fans, but that was expected. “Everything was done quickly, I signed up for the World Cup, so I could not say goodbye.” Debuchy also said that he received a call from Mike Ashley after his departure. He said: “The president called me, he does not do it with everyone, it was a strong gesture on his part. “It means that I have done good things in Newcastle. “It was a bit difficult for me, I had a good relationship with the public and those of the club. It was brutal [the reaction of Newcastle fans], but I’m very happy to be at Arsenal.” No surprise, obviously. But somehow still sad to see it so obviously spelled out. This is how we sell the club to players, not because we want to progress in any way ourselves. Nice to see Ashley call him and offer his thanks for the quick profit too. The Chronicle using it as propaganda for Ashley. "Ashley called me after I left and wished me luck, he's a good man".

Segun Oluwaniyi
French footballers are remarkably forthcoming when compared to their English counterparts. Ligue 1 players at fairly big clubs talk about moving on, bigger clubs, etc. constantly without much in the way of backlash. They love to talk. ben-nufc
I'd much rather we signed players using us as a stepping stone than signing bog standard fillers like Colback or has-beens like we did in the past. It's just a case of reinvesting that money again which is the issue. In theory signing a player for 5m then selling him for 10m and replacing him with someone for 6m should be a potential upgrade.
