Wilson
looked class at full back, anonymous in central midfield really hope he doesnt have too much of a problem being played there
Gallowgate Toon
Anita's a good footballer, much like Cabaye, playing him central in a 4-4-2 is a waste of time. Looked a useful full back, actually knew how to bomb forward and put in the odd decent ball.
ohmelads
We didn't really get to see his defensive side at right back cos Villa were awful but going forward he's an upgrade on Simpson. If Simpson is injured (and even if he's not) I think this lad needs to be considered at RB, especially when Tiote is back. Or left back for that matter with Santon right. duo
Thought it was LB he's played at but looked good at RB. Played well especially when he switched to RB.

Dr Colossus
When Tiote's back I'd play him over Cabaye. Noticed today that he tended to dart forward sometimes and give Villa a man free to pass to when he was playing in the middle. Let Tiote sweep things like that up behind him and Anita could do just fine there I reckon. His versatility is great in that he can cover in positions where players might need a kick up the arse. Dr Venkman
If he doesn't want to play full back long term he went about it the wrong way today, he was great.

Fenham Mag
Almost scored didn't he? Was at the opposite end to me so couldn't see to well.
gbandit
Almost scored didn't he? Was at the opposite end to me so couldn't see to well. Was a decent effort as he had to hit it first time but it wasn't going to go in. Keeper had it covered if it was creeping inside the post. Good technique though, Tiote would have lofted it well into the stands
TRC
Makes more sense to have him on the left and Santon right? We looked a threat down the right though once he moved there. Thought he was top class

Thought he was top class Guess it's just a case of not wanting to make two changes when one will do. Santon looks comfortable in his position IMO, I wouldn't want to tamper with it. Thought he was top class Don't see what the obsession with putting Santon on the right is. Tbh I always thought Anita was left footed but he looks right footed to me. Super Duper Branko Strupar
I hope he enjoyed playing there, he looked like he did. He's everything Simpson is not going forward.
Dr Colossus
Tried to explain myself but after thinking about it I realised the err of my ways and deleted everything. I take it all back.
Sifu
If he doesn't want to play full back long term he went about it the wrong way today, he was great. He did mention in an interview that he'd be willing to play anywhere so yep, think we have our RB if Simpson's out for a while.
Gallowgate Toon
If Perch is available I'd rather play him at right back and put Anita in a midfield 3.
Dave
Kinda depressing how you could instantly notice the difference in having someone in Simpson's place who is more comfortable on the ball.

Wait and see I guess. Though I'm pretty sure that Simpson (if fit that is) is going to be Pardew's first choice RB for the foreseeable future (or for the next four months). Mick
Kinda depressing how you could instantly notice the difference in having someone in Simpson's place who is more comfortable on the ball. Most people around me were moaning about our luck when Simpson started holding his thigh and I said it might be a blessing in disguise. It's just a pity that our overall display was poor and we didn't get to see how much of a difference it could have made.
alexf
Really looked like it had potential having him bombing on, on the over-lap. He's definitely got the pace to play fullback anyways. Would like to give it a try when tiote is back as long as he doesn't hate playing there, which he didn't seem to. Plus it maybe beneficial in helping him settle into the premiership more rather than in a 2 man midfield.
Guest VegasToon
I thought Anita looked fantastic at RB. Can we hope he wants to stay and play there?
Mole_Toonfan
Depending on Simpson's injury we might have to play them whether he want's to or not. Personally would like to see 4-3-3 with the same midfield as last year(Cabaye-Tiote-Jonas) and Anita at RB. Seems a bit of a pipe dream though.
