it all went to sh.t when we didn't sign enough players to cope with eur league and PL, that's not AP fault, but the team selection is. I actually predicted this crap.

Better next game, I hope, Oh god I hope

I don't know why people are getting so upset about this result.  Yeah, it ain't great, but there are bigger fish to fry.

We put out an, at best, reserve side against a team that is doing reasonably well in the Championship.  What does this tell us?  It tells us that our approach to this game was to win it if we could, but it was a higher priority to protect our first team from more injuries and to rest them for the next game.

I am not saddened by the prospect of being out of the FA Cup.  I would not be saddened if we were out of the Europa league as well.  Whilst this performance has not given us anything to smile about, it is far from justification to tar-and-feather anyone.

Here's me thinking football was about winning trophies and having pride in your team not making sure you finish 17th or above in the PL every season so you can make money.

We also put out pretty much the strongest team available due to injuries/absences.

What the f*** is this mentality of being glad we are out of a cup competition, fans being pleased to lose a game.

Staying up is more important and we don't have the squad to be playing EL, league and FA Cup come February and March.

I hate to say it but if it means staying up then i don't really care tbh.

I wonder what excuse Pardew is going to use now????  :hmm:

They had an extra days rest

"Difficult place to come"

"Pitch wasn't great"

" You know we've come here to Brighton today and played a really good footballing side, I know Gus well and hes produced a team that would perform well enough at premiership level. Our intentions were to really attack the game, but circumstances were against us. We lost our captain and best player in my opinions in Ameobi and from then on its an uphill battle with ten men. We've had a really hard schedule against some top sides, this was probably one game too many for the lads. But we look onto Norwich where hopefully I get the likes of Cabaye and Debuchy into the side. "

There is taking the piss and then there is this

Pathetic.  Utterly clueless.

We just got completely outplayed by a team one league below.  The players who started today should have been more than capable of competing in that game but we seemed to have no cohesion, plan or desire to win the game and that's down to the management and coaching.

What's the fucking point then?  We're not going to win the league so you'd be happy just staying in the PL each season for another go at winning fuck all?

A team like us should be focusing on the cups as it's our best chance of actually winning something.  You know, winning things, the point of the game.

On the surface, I'm fine with going out of the cup. Quite frankly, it's an irritant right now - a fixture that we had to fulfil. But the manner of defeat and the performance were beyond pathetic and it all leads back to one man - Pardew. He has to go, and soon.

I sick of people saying the problem is we didn't sign new players! Yeah that's true but it doesn't stop utterly shit team selections and tactics - that's Pardews remit, he is clueless and utterly lost at the mo, I'm guessing the players have lost faith in him too

This is the worst I've felt after watching a football match since our relegation season :(

I really not that bothered in all honesty. Recently Seen too many important games with good players available lost without a whimper to care about this too much.

We might actually win something one day if we actually win cup games.

And fuck that, quite frankly.
