I thought he might have walked if it got rough but obviously not, he's basically Pardew at this point without the obnoxious personality.

Thing is it hasn't got rough yet, he's having a free fucking ride so why would he jack it?

I mean he's performed disgustingly so anyone with integrity would probably have quit or been sacked by now, hence why we went for him which I guess we all knew.

I'll despise him to Pardew levels if we lose Saturday and he doesn't quit.

Results wise I mean, probably the wrong word to use like.

Aye yeah. Rough definitely isn't the right word to use like, it's been like slowly being tortured knowing there will never be any end to it unless the torturer dies.

If we're looking for a Championship promotion specialist next season we could get Chris...ah yeah.

Probably end up with Kit Symons or Dougie Freedman or some other cheap shitehawk.

from the Manchester evening news also in the Mail

The Chilean (Pellegrini)  is expected to have a host of offers after leading City to three trophies in as many years - with Zenit emerging as the first to make a serious move.

According the Mail, the Russian Premier League champions are prepared to pay Pellegrini £3.09m-a-season in a two-year deal.

But they also claim the outgoing City boss will consider staying in the Premier League, with Newcastle a potential option.

The problem is who you need now is not necessarily who you would want to be manager next season.  And of course, there is a more limited choice because some managers either won't want to risk a relegation on their CV or want to wait until the Summer when there will be more options for them.

Also some managers need time to implement their ideas (a pre-season) and we need a manager who will make an immediate impact.

For managers who want a Premier League job, there are limited options and we have to be (or should be) one of the more attractive options.  How many Premier League jobs are likely to be available in the near future (excluding the elite teams who will only target certain managers anyway)?  The downside is Mike Ashley and the restrictions he imposes on any manager and the low wages he offers.

When will they realise that the manager is the most important person?  Get the right one and one who will have the respect of the players, then a lot of the problems would be resolved.

The ideal scenario would be the short-term appointment of a top manager with the incentive of a large bonus and then go all out for someone like a Pellegrini (if he is generally interested) in the Summer.

The downside of a short-term appointment is will he get the players playing if they know he won't be around beyond the end of the season.

My fear is that we will end up with someone like Nigel Pearson (their decision based on the fact that he kept Leicester up last year) and he may give them a kick up the backside in the short-term but I think he would be another bad appointment that would inevitably fail.

We're down man and if not, that's how any manager worth his salt will see us. They've made their bed now.

We are only in the bottom 3 on goal difference so not adrift yet.

If we stick with McClaren we are down but potential managers will see we have some decent players - certainly better than Norwich and Sunderland albeit not necessarily in attitude - and think we are worth the risk.  But whether any decent manager would be prepared to take us on, who knows.
