Some people (not here) arguing the sack is an overreaction because it "wasn't much of a headbutt." Because that actually matters

Eh? Well it must matter a bit how bad the offence is surely. Or people would have to be sacked every time they did anything wrong. Don't really get you.

Embarrassing from Pardew, but credit where it's due he got his lineup spot on.

 Line up was good, and when he does what the consensus on here wants he wins by four. Pisses me off that it takes him 100 games to realize it.

Genuine question, ignoring today, why does anyone think he's going to get sacked when you are 8th?

Amazing stuff that, though. What an absolute fucking clown shoe.

Rumours in the summer were that Ashley wanted to sack him but his pay off was too high. Now he could sack him for nothing in theory.

Not sure if it's still copyright, so go onto Youtube and type in Soccer Saturday: Jeff Stelling's reaction to Alan Pardew's headbutt on David Meyler.

They used to be funny but that seems more like a parody of GSS.

What Pardew did was stupid though. Imagine he'll get a lengthy ban.

Yeah but I was sharing for Stellings opinion that he'll be in big trouble as well. This could be a 6 game ban.

 Fair enough.

Don't crush our dreams please, it's what keeps us going through the dark days.

More hope than expectation.

It's absolutely nothing but wishful thinking.

Ah, ok, gotcha.

Haven't been around that much of late, so out of touch.

Thread title should really say "for moving his head towards David..."

Was it even Alan Pardew? I'm not sure.

It was, aye.

I'd like to know what Meyler said to him before making a judgement.

Was it even Alan Pardew? I'm not sure, would need to be there really.

He didn't by the look of it, he pushed Pardew as he went to get the ball, Pardew came back at him because of it, well that's how it looked to me.

Seriously, just because he didn't make much contact doesn't mean it's not a headbutt.

That seems like legitimately the absolute worst sports show on Earth.

He clearly moves his head to Meyler on replays.  In todays football world, I'd call it a headbutt.
