A lot of ex-players don't have that much to offer in the brains dept. But I feel a bit sad that two of Newcastle Uniteds great names in Moncur and Beardsley seem unable to find anything wrong with the way United are being run. Or maybe they just don't want to. Other clubs call them 'club ambassadors' or some such shit - basically a familiar (successful/famous) face who does the rounds to make the people who've paid more for their tickets feel a bit more important than the rank and file. They think they're rubbing shoulders with a bit of an NUFC celeb and he has an active role on matchdays. Would explain why his tongue is brown.
