Ikon
God i wish to have him in our team for the season When Cabaye and Debuchy left i didn't feel nearly as much as i do about a possible HBA exit.
St1pe
I usually just lurk here but this forum's commitment to hba and the ability to see through the obvious lies from the club is fantastic. Echoing what Nath wrote on the last page, arguing this topic on another forum has become tiresome, it's good to see the majority of the fans view this for the travesty that it is. Dr Venkman
The trouble is, unless you play him as a striker or give him a free role behind a lone striker, situations will arise where he has to help defend. I think his best position is the free role, but that didn't prove too successful. It needs someone who is hard-working, with a good football brain. The shame is that HBA has the talent but not the right attitude to self improvement. He seems to reach a certain point, and then blow it. He's got both. There's a difference between being crap at tackling and not working hard.
Wullie
.com: Not mentioning Hatem Ben Arfa here will doubtless result in people assuming we're either with or against him depending on their own view. As succinctly as possible: he has been handled poorly by the manager with his "one size fits all" approach, but lacked the personal professionalism a sportsman needs to get himself fit last season - that's unrelated to a management dispute, if he'd worked as hard on his fitness as Ryan Taylor then this problem wouldn't have festered and grown. The damage was done in July 2013 when he sat by a Portuguese pre-season pitchside in his flip flops and by the following January waddled off the bench at Carrow Road. The sale of Cabaye highlighted that fact and doubtless prompted the question from on high, just why are we still paying this bloke? Anyone have a clue what that means? To me it serms that even the guy that wrote that shite hasn't got a clue what he was talking about. WTF?

The Cabaye sale made him realise we shouldn't pay Ben Arfa as he wore flip flops pitchside one game, waddled of the bench at another. Madness. Disco
Aye, if only Ben Arfa had got himself fit again after a near career ending injury like Ryan Taylor.

ponsaelius
Is there any actual evidence of that btw? I've always assumed they're on a dripfeed from the club, such is the accuracy of their reporting of rumours/etc, but never more than speculated. mangoliver
Don't know what the hell they are writing about. For a start Ben Arfa started the game at Norwich away last season and did not come off the bench at all.
Chicane
He and Sammy played very well on the wings in that first half as well IIRC.

Shays Given Tim Flowers
Complete conjecture and hardly even handed from .com (who by and large I like). Anyway, watching sewelly's vid and couldnt help what it would be like on here if we were linked to a player with that highlight reel, we'd be ecstatic. Lunacy that he's not a part of the picture. The way people go on it's like he's N'zogbia or something, he is far more special than that. People who seem to side with the club on Hatem sound like the bitter no nothings who groan their way through match days. Ironically chicken and egg. Leek
This Ben Arfa situation is a total farce. The club want to turn us agaisnt him, yet have failed miserably because we already hate the wankers behind the club. If what Ben Arfa had done wrong was justifiable theres no doubt Twatdew would of just tried to put it out there in a way that wouldnt of looked premeditated but blatantly was. They didnt have a plan B to the fact Ben Arfa would put up a fight to stay as they've turfed out the likes of Barton and co out before, obviously we dont quite know if Ben Arfa just wants to sit on his contract or he genuinely wants to stay, Im guessing hes 50/50 at what to do at the moment and with a player of his talent and skill Im more than behind supporting the lad. Hes the most exciting player in our team, a match winner and a dam sight better than that alien headed winger and any other winger in the team. The fact hes mugging Pardew off makes it more of a pleasure to support the lad. Cant wait to show some support when the season starts for Hatem. I just hope that the majority of the supporters are the same, I've seen quite a few wanting rid of him and for the similar reasons Pardews spouted out.
