Mick
He's going to be a top player when he settles into the game and gets up to pace with the premiership.
Tiresias
i wonder if he's in the no10 slot cos he's not fit enough to work in teh engine room deeper for the full 90 yet. Ideally i guess de jong will end up there and wijnaldum will drop into colbackcs slot I agree but don't rule out Perez for the slot you've put De Jong in. Fair point almost like there's good competition for our attacking places, not used to this
Minhosa
We've needed someone like him for years. Quality.
The College Dropout
Like him deeper like he played today. Didn't have much of the ball but was it him who dunked a fantastic ball over to Obertan then Obertan decided not to bother and attack? Great ball anyway. ponsaelius
it's almost like £15 million midfielders are good and better than ones signed on free transfers
Ally
Really like the look of Gini, quick feet, great movement and actual ability with a football. Revolutionary compared to some of our recent lot
M4
He plays with positivity. Him and Perez are the two players we have who are like that. Skill helps a lot obviously, but they play with a spring in their setup, are fearless and just want to make things happen.
LFEE
I thought he's been anonymous by and large for two games now. Don't think this number 10 role is doing him any favours.
BONTEMPI
Need to play him in the position he made his name with.

ElDiablo
Was blowing badly near the end but kept going bless him. Looks top class, one of those players that you can tell is the part right away.
madras
He has a bit of a point. He was quiet last week due to us not having the ball, this week he had a very quiet second half for the same reason. However in both games he showed quality on the rare occasions he had the ball and put in a shift defensively.
LFEE
Anonymous today, really? Yes for a so called box to box midfielder. His name was hardly mentioned by the commentators. Couple of moments like the run for our breakaway at the end and a couple of times he retained possession in the first half but nothing else.
Mole_Toonfan
He wasn't today IMO, against Swansea you could claim that though.

Mole_Toonfan
He was very involved relevant to the amount of possession we had IMO, although i will say it only happened once McClaren changed from a 4-2-3-1 to a 433/4141 which got him a lot more involved and the team as whole were a lot more organised. Dave
Aside from the Mitrovic header he was involved in everything we did going forward in the first half, created good chances for Haidara and Perez and a better understanding with his teammates would have seen us in a few more times. If he was anonymous because he barely touched the ball second half then so was the rest of the team.

I did BUT I objected to your "for a so called box to box midfielder" comment because it was irrelevant since he was not playing in that role
Mole_Toonfan
I think we can agree that he looks lost as a no 10 and quite clearly doesn't get involved as much as he should. Much better further back and coincidently as soon as he did we looked a lot better overall today which meant less of a Swansea type performance. That's not his fault either, McClaren will eventually realise if he hasn't already that him as a no 10 will not particularly be successful long term.
