Guest
Leicester have it nailed like. They lose a star but they get 2-3 players in the £20-25m bracket that improve their depth.
Guest
Thiago to Liverpool confirmed PL title going to Anfield again then with that news. I’m not convinced, could see them finishing 3rd this season. Man City will be hungry and could see Chelsea closing the gap.
St1pe
Jota to Liverpool seems and odd one that appears to be happening.
Ameritoon
They definitely need something different in attack when the usual 3 aren't working. Shaqiri was it for a little while, but he rarely plays anymore for whatever reason

Disco
Versatile back up I guess, can play across the front 3 and as a 10.

toon25
Great signing for Liverpool. Jota will do well under Klopp. Wonder where Shaqiri will be binned off to?

Raconteur
I thought Minamino was the back up player? Thought he was a chance of breaking out this season. I like what I’ve seen of him.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
So strange, weren't Liverpool put off by Werner because of the fee? Then they pay this for Jota
Mikky
So strange, weren't Liverpool put off by Werner because of the fee? Then they pay this for Jota That’s some smart dealing from Wolves Hoever looked seriously good when I’ve seen him - will replace Doherty well in that team
Guest
Werner is probably on twice as much as what Jota is in terms of salary.
rgk_lfc
So strange, weren't Liverpool put off by Werner because of the fee? Then they pay this for Jota Wage demands plus the way the payment is structured. We don't have a lot of money to pay upfront. In Werner's case, they wanted a majority of the payment upfront. With Jota, the payment is structured over multiple years with the first year payment being low. Same reason we were not able to purchase Jamal Lewis. Not too keen on selling Hoever. I think he is a top talent and we may regret that sale.
Nobody
Must say, I don't quite understand the Jota transfer, doesn't really make sense for either party IMO. Really good player, in fact way too good to sit on the bench, but hardly worth £40+m as a back up.
Disco
Guessing Wolves need to balance the books after that lad from Porto. Nuno is a massive small squad ultra n all.
rgk_lfc
Must say, I don't quite understand the Jota transfer, doesn't really make sense for either party IMO. Really good player, in fact way too good to sit on the bench, but hardly worth £40+m as a back up. To be honest, I don't quite understand it either. He is a very good player, don't get me wrong. But whatever little I watched of him, he seems to lack that extra bit of class and explosiveness which will take him to a Mane, Salah level in the future. Even with a favorable payment structure, that fee is a bit of a headscratcher. Having said that, with the transfer committee, and Klopp, there is always a plan. With most players they have bought in the last few years, it is clear within 3-4 months, their role and how they are planning to be used, etc. He does fit the Klopp purchase profile - young, can play multiple positions, tenacious has the skill and an eye for goal. So curious to see how Jota develops.
Guest neesy111
More intensive season though, so more need to rotate.
Ketsbaia
Jota, Shaqiri, Harry Wilson, Minamino, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi. I guess this means Brewster really is leaving?
rgk_lfc
More intensive season though, so more need to rotate. Yup, it could just be that. We don't have the money for elite-level talents like Werner or Havertz this summer which was the original plan. So pad up the squad with good quality replacements from clubs who accept favorable payment structures.
