"Not during the match but......had a very strange experience at the station. On the steps down to the platform six guys who had seen my City shirt and were just a foot behind me started singing "We clap with our hands, we clap with our hands.." I thought they must be Newcastle (despite being fairly legible) but ended on "Coventry City, we clap with our hands". I noticed some Police at the bottom of the stairs just as it was intensifying and thought "mmm, Coventry City, if only there was the slightest of things I could nit pick at in that strutting stormtrooper of a well organised football club", resulting in a medley of "We are Premier league....we own our own ground.....we won the league" etc. Got down to the platform and there's a crowd of lads ahead of me, I say to them "Can you believe this, Coventry fans trying to take the piss out of us?". To my surprise they were Geordies but backed me up straight away.."Coventry? Didn't they lose 6-2 to Yeovil on Monday?"

I replied loudly, "yeah and then to the local girl guides team on Wednesday" which brought applause and laughter from the platforn, police and all. The Chaventry fans  went to their platform shouting something about my hair loss as 6 on 1 had become 6 on 51.

Got talking to the Geordies about our clubs, a great bunch. Banter from them, a team that have just beaten us would have been expected, a comment on clappers fair enough, but from random Chaventry fans only here for a connection, when their club is a million miles away from being where we are at, a very strange and lucky for me the other lads were pro Leicester (went on to say how much they respect our achievements) or it could have ended differently!

Coventry!

Enjoy the clapping with hands at your consolation goals vs Yeovil (and St Agatha's under 14's)!"

Was going to post something similar, if you look at the replies to the official tweets about the game there is a lot of 'Claude the fraud' comments. Even a few Soton fans saying we told you so. I thought they'd had a pretty good season all things considered.

It weird on a lot of opposition forums people are still upset to be beaten by 'a team like Newcastle' like we've not been in decent form for the past three months.

People just don't keep up to date with other teams I reckon. In their eyes we'll be a promoted team that invested less than the two other promoted teams.

Leicester have spent a fucking fortune to be honest. In the last two seasons:

Maguire £17m

Iborra £15m

Adrien Silva £22m

Iheanacho £25m

Ndidi £17m

Slimani £28m

Musa £16m

Mendy £13m

Obviously they've sold their title winning central midfielders to finance some of that but most of those deals piss all over our record fee and some have already been moved on. One of them has even been loaned to us ffs. Puel can't really be held responsible for many of those deals but they just seem to be struggling to score at home, he had similar problems at Southampton. He's still taken them from 16th to 8th since he's been in charge so you'd think that would be worth some credit.

Reminded me of a time we went to Millwall. On the way there we were whistling the theme to "Some Mothers Do have 'em", and when we got off, we were passing a couple of lads who said "oroit moi saaan".

Once outside the station we took a little time to consider where we were going and these two lads got ahead of us.

The next 10 mins was like a film. As w walked down the street, people were coming out of shops and pubs and just about everywhere, until these two lads were suddenly about 500. And as we turned into the next street we were confronted by them, chanting "We're Jawdies we're mental, we're orf are facking eads." in loud cockney accents.

Cutting a long story short(ish) we got an escort to the ground, and watched as every one of the 500 entered the same end as us.

The first half was filled with a silent tension, but nothing happened and we forgot about it in the second half as we went on to win 2-1, Clarkie and Cole I believe.

Later on we bumped into the two lads from the station, and it turns out they were Newcastle fans, living in London, who believe we were Millwall ad the Frank Spencer tune was a millwall song.

They had a good run in the Champs league last season, that will have helped finance some of those deals. It looks like a lot of money but I suspect they've spent within their means.

Regarding Puel, they are fucking stupid if they want shot, he's done very well with them this season. Southampton thought they were being clever last season by getting rid because they didn't like the style but look how that's worked out.

Credit to Leicester for trying to build a squad. With Prem wages and fees, it is now very easy to make expensive mistakes. They also did it while trying to transition away from the tactics that won them the title. Too much change at one time is never good. Ideally, you would have an approach and players and managers would be recruited to fit it. If you want to criticize a team for throwing around money with no vision, Everton would be a much more obvious choice.

On the subject of Leicester, I love Vardy, I think he's wicked and deserves more credit for not going to Arsenal, but I think Mahrez is a flighty bastard who's up his own arse. I would have said it before the game, but didn't want to tempt fate.

As I always say, never disrespect another clubs opinion on managers. Remember how we were treated over Pardew and Allardyce? Perhaps Southampton and Leicester fans have seen something they don't like in Puel.

From the outside things can be very different. We also should mock other fans ambition to be better (within reason), far too many clubs fans are just happy to exist.

Fair play if they expect more from their club.

Didn't realise Maguire cost them 17m [emoji38]

Pretty much the going rate for a decent English player with functioning legs.

At least they didn't pay £30 mil for a soon to be out of contract Michael Keane

£17m is a bargain next to Keane, Stones and Van Dyke, it's crazy how prices seem to spiral further and out of control for incremental improvements. Is Van Dyke good? Yes, is he 4 times as good as Maguire? Probably not even twice as good.

It'd be like buying TVs and finding a 20inch screen is £100 22inch is £200 and 24inch £500, premier league needs common sense restoring, part of this price inflation has to be as much about pricing out smaller clubs as genuine inflation

Watched it loads of times now and froze it likewise. It's only the "linesman's" view that gives any decent sight and the pictures from there are very inconclusive. Even with the picture frozen you can't tell if Mahrez is on the way down before contact or not. It seems like Dummett does make contact and could possibly knock Mahrez's leg onto his other but if he's on his way already the contact doesn't matter ( or rather shouldnt). The correct decision was given as they couldn't be sure but these are nearly always given. I'd bet this place would've been in uproar had it been Simpson on Kenedy.

Dummett gets a touch something Kammy said on Sunday, today Dermot Gallacher said he got a touch but took out Mahrez first, which was completely wrong. The slightest touch on Mahrez came after the touch of the ball, to me it looks like a good tackle.
