How come they've clicked all of a sudden anyway? Manager decent?

His record is pretty average. Think it’s a combination of playing mostly teams who are in the bottom half, teams in poor form and the other top teams dropping point regularly. Think Hull will get auto and between them and Peterborough for the other spot.

The bits n bobs you watch of them  the standard is f***ing s**** .Tranmere for the half hour I watched were more than a match if not the better team. They are pretty hash and I've said it before if they go up will need a new team to get anywhere near top half of the championship.

The standard in the 3rd division is rank.

We'd fit in easily.

The form of Wyke too, he's been banging them in.

Total red neck

Fucking wild times, sitting alone on the computer during lockdown chinning cans till 1am after winning the Papa John's trophy, their version of when we went to the San Siro.  Something to tell the grankids about.

I'm sure it's nice for them that they've won a trophy, but we're talking about a competition where in the last twenty-odd years Carlisle have made it to the final half a dozen times, and won it twice.  A decent chunk of football fans probably didn't even realise that the game was taking place.

Wonder if they'll have an open top bus parade?

Just imagine them sweeping majestically through the back streets of Southwick, their captain holding a pizza box high.

Someone (Kasper[/member] off here, maybe) should Photoshop it.

With local gurners cheering them on - the Micks, John Humble, Steve Cram etc in the crowd.

Maybe Adam Johnson looking on from his parked car round the corner

I know it doesnt mean a lot but well done to them tbh.

Its a trophy, a medal for the players, a huge boost for next season, a sign of progress and ambition. Not to mention hope.

All of which we're lacking at the moment.

The Intertoto Cup win of ours was probably a bigger achievement. Can’t believe they’re actually celebrating it

We beat some decent teams in the Intertoto Cup and of course qualified for the UEFA Cup through it. They beat 4th Division Tranmere Rovers to win the Pizza Cup and in doing so took the trophy off current holders, 4th Division Salford City.

How they've got the nerve to mock our Intertoto win and yet celebrate their Papa John pizza Cup wildly I do not know. It is quite amusing though!

I keep reading that we're jealous and envious

They also keep mentioning how we wanted 10K for the game at their place in January 2019 - erm yes, that was nothing to do with on field matters though - it was to take the piss out of their fans FFS! Cracking 90 minutes of piss-taking songs that was! 0-0 at half time too!

Given where we are and how we’re feeling - they just finally got taken over and won a shite pizza sponsored cup. Still more exciting than our impending doom unless the pl decide to allow us the joy of a takeover.

At the very least they get to at least dream about the future and have some hope.

What do we have? Nothing, because our path to bright future has been blocked and we don’t have any idea if or when that happens and if it doesn’t we may be stuck with our 3rd season with Bruce as manager and more hatred of our club.

They're helped by everyone in the top 6 falling over themselves to hand them promotion. They've got some good players for that level, so they should really be top, but they'll need a strong summer to have a squad that'll stay up next season.
