He's been absolutely fucking brilliant recently. Him and Burn have both been great, but the last 2 matches especially Schar's sterl the sher.

It seems like he’s also enjoying football again, simple things usually with footballers performing.

His first touch for the 2nd goal deserves more love, most players would take the touch to either shield the ball or take them towards the touchline. Schar’s touch and, it looks intentional, took him beyond the defender on the inside and his pass to Willock was a beauty.

He can be caught off guard in possession at times and doesn’t always see runners but he can certainly play football. Him and Burn to Lascelles and Clark is huge.

The passing back and forward between Schar and Burn was almost comical against West Ham. But they still persisted with it today, even when pressured.

Such a basic thing and probably not even noticeable to most fans of functioning teams. But it makes a massive difference having two centre backs happy on the ball and confident when knocking it about.

One of my pet hates is CMs dropping in to CB to take posession and play simple balls forward. I think it's a properly stupid, and overly safe tactic to deploy which actually loses you territory on the pitch. It also corrodes the confidence of your defence.

So for me, it's a pleasure to see us being more confident on the ball, allowing CMs to take up their position in the cente of midfield where they belong, and put teams on the back foot.

Inter Milan are great at it, so much so I watch in disbelief at times.
