He must assume they’re going down regardless so just them as cheap as possible. Wonder how long it takes for him to say he’s not putting another penny into club after promising the good times.

Yeah - it wont take long for it to dawn on them when hes shafting players on bonuses, selling off club assets for relatives, gutting the amount of staff and coaches way beyond the barebones, getting the club raided by HMRC  and all the other dodgy stuff he did.

Fucking hell.

LJM isn't a very wise owl.

If I've learnt anything about assessing an incoming player, manager, coach etc it's to always trust what the locals are saying! Sheff Wed fans would do well to heed the warnings from us and Rangers before getting too giddy.

I know our circumstances and ambitions are different to Sheff Wed's but we're talking about a cancerous individual here with corrupt moral values, he'll find a way to shaft and exploit a club whether it's Real Madrid or Percy Main Amateurs.

This is strikingly similar to reading the reactions of WBA and Blackpool fans just after they appointed Bruce.

Do they have a ground big enough for his Sports Direct signage

It needs a rebuild. I think at least 2 stands are below required levels and they have had to play at a reduced capacity since our cup game against them a few years ago in the grounds of safety.

If you go on their forum, the majority of them admit that they probably need to move out into a new stadium.

Considering we'd a dead pigeon in the Gallowgate for 14 years, it doesn't bode well for Hillsborough.

Always had soft spot for Sheff Wed, probably from our 80's promotion fight, so I'm not happy to witness what's going to happen here.

Can it be any worse than the last 25 years they’ve endured?

Ashley’s aim will be to get them back into the top flight and then cream off the commercially while offering fuck all ambition.  To us that sounds like purgatory, to Sheff Wed it might not

This is it for me.

Success is relative. They may be delighted with him if he does to them what he did to us. And maybe rightfully so.

I’m going to guess Ashley’s aim with us wasn’t to get relegated in his first full season as our owner and to turn into a yo-yo club. His penny pinching, his inability to employ anyone qualified to run a football club, and ultimately his greed turned us into one. He’s about to buy a club who are about to get a 15 point penalty next season so he could save up to £10m, but will probably be far less. This will result in them having to a flawless season next season, or a very very good one to make the play offs. This is despite a few years ago Sheffield Wednesday being 1 of 3 teams to achieve over 90 points across the season.

It will make promotion at the first attempt almost impossible.

On top of this in order to have a team that can compete in the Championship or Premier League, they need a whole new stadium. This alone will cost more than the £330m he picked up from selling us. They also need a new training ground and academy, with those facilities also said to be way behind where they should be.

Honestly if he is running the club for himself the best guy he could bring in is fucking Charnley, and he was a fucking mess focus.

The best hope Sheffield Wednesday fans have is if his son-in-law who now runs SD decides to run it. He might just have an ego big enough to make it a success.

I look forward to Sheffield Wednesday gaining Castor as their shirt manufacturer, confirming that Ashley is the unknown financial backer of the brand, SD/Frasers being stamped all over Hillsborough, and Sheffield Wednesday fans receiving giant SD mugs with their online purchases of club merchandise.

I’m not even sure if there is a big enough cunt left alive for Ashley to bring in as manager.
