Sheffield were shite but for once we actually punished a side who were shite.

We were better before the red card and played without fear for a change.

Now let's get the takeover done so we can actually improve.

Best home performance of the season that.

Indeed. Definitely helped by how passive and prone to error SU were, but you have to be there to take advantage and we showed up big time today. Really pleased  :)

Or they were mesmerised by our brilliance.

I prefer this, we'll go with it  :)

 You mad

I was fairly worried before kick-off. Even at half-time, it felt like it was there for either team. Fair play, they looked convincing for the first game in a while, and deserved it.

Just got to really be honest: that was a very good team performance. Front 4 clicked, Shelvey was everywhere until 80 mins and nobody had a bad game (rose started poorly but grew into it). Helped out by the red (which was a red and well earned by joelinton) and by Dame Edna’s moonshot (inexplicable), but thoroughly deserved win. Almiron and ASM are properly decent players man.

Minutes since a PL goal (for NUFC):

512 Jonjo Shelvey

616 Andy Carroll

625 Yoshinori Muto

694 Miguel Almiron

881 Christian Atsu

1,327 Matt Ritchie

2,053 Joelinton

Canny.

How is Carroll 100 minutes over shelvey when he hasn’t scored for 10 years??

Well deserved but still, as far as I'm concerned it's all fuckin pointless unless the sale goes through.

This goes without saying really.

The thread was getting too positive for my liking.

Impressive how in a comfortable 3-0 home win Rose still looked poor

I thought he grew into the game and had a good second half personally.

He couldn’t grow any more

Thought he was dog shit throughout didn’t pass it forward once

Manquillo was much better the other side

Rose was the only player who looked poor today I thought, everyone else had solid-to-excellent games. His passing was absolutely garbage.

First game I can remember in the league where Joelinton's had more than 1 chance in the game, and lo and behold, he scored. He did well to engineer the red too.

Him being out of position all the time annoyed me. The same with Ritchie. Rose would drop into a position where he was nowhere near the man on the wing, or the man coming into the box more centrally. It meant Ritchie had to pick one or the other and leave a gap somewhere. If Ritchie has come to the man on the wing Rose could have dropped back centrally. Of course if either of them where in position in the first place then they wouldn’t have to be correcting their mistakes. They did that throughout the game.
