We need another striker and realistically, Wilson’s race is almost run given his age and injuries so we’ll need two strikers in the next year Id say. Joelinton, all thought you’d expect him to fit the bill for being a target man, didn’t do too well. We’ll just have to depend on a runner, Gordon or Willock and getting those through balls to them. He just managed to postpone it by finding the best form and fitness of his career. Hoped against hope but really he was never going to last as a regular starter. His goal record is absolutely superb but he's incredibly unreliable in terms of availability, and when the other main striking option is also made of wet tissue paper you have to seriously question the situation as it doesn't feel long term tenable. I really hope Wilson can get to second behind Shearer this season and ideally put up 50 league goals for us, but we do need to look at the striking roster and consider his position come the summer.
