Played a big role in keeping our head above water for a couple of seasons, then played a significant role in getting us into the Champions League. Age/injuries obviously getting the better of him now but impossible not to remember him fondly.

 

Hope he goes on to have another productive season or two elsewhere.

Think that’s generally what people mean by pay as you play TBH. They don’t mean no salary at all.

Helped us through some dark times, and was a big part of the transition from a joke of a club to a top 4 finish. All the best of course, hope he has a solid end to his career.

Great player for us. Was clearly the right time to go as the injuries have caught up with him and he’s not the same player anymore. Fantastic on his day and could have played for a better side than us under Bruce. Scored the goals that kept us up and inevitably led to the takeover.

He was a fine PL striker, eye for goal, fast and strong and occasionally quite audacious. Shame he couldn’t get to 50 PL goals but he was there when we needed him in a pivotal time for the club.
