Scoreboard82
Great statement from him. Bowing out proudly after giving his best. He's been a good one. Thanks Callum.
Yorkie
Best Wilson moment, anyone? Fair few to choose from. Home to Burnley to get Howe's first win was a humongous winning goal, but the pearler at Goodison probably pinches it for me.

I know it was followed with a (final) Bruce shaped thud back down to earth, but the euphoria from that goal was like nothing else.
frankpingel
Definitely in leaves with best wishes and hope that he gets whatever he wants regarding future plans. He will always be remembered fondly at NUFC.

I wasn't "there" yet given that - a matter of days prior - I'd been revelling in the misery of another defeat for Bruce et al. Took until Howe arriving for me to regain any feeling on a matchday. TomYam
Sadly, the time had come. Injuries aside, Callum has been one of the best signings made by the club over the passed twenty years. Always seems like a really nice natured fella too. His departure leaves one crucial question: Which player inherits the 'most handsome' mantle? toontownman
Seemed like an age (also much longer than it actually was) since we had a proper goal scoring number 9. He was EVERYTHING we needed from a striker when he came. Quality player, top lad and amazing seeing an England striker playing for us again. Proper deadly infront of goal and led the top like a boss. Wish him all the best. Hope he goes abroad and gets minted.

Froggy
The Athletic is linking him with us as a last resort if we don't get any of our top targets.

Can't think of a more underappreciated goal in the last few years. Absolutely ridiculous finish.
Chris_R
Great finisher, when his legs functioned properly he had everything - pace, power, decent in the air. Probably the most "Shearer-like" player we've had since the man himself. Sadly as happens to everyone evenetually it seems his legs have gone now, and either he can't reinvent himself or our game requires him to play in a way he no longer can, so the time has come for him to move on. He can probably still do a good job for a team that's less about pace, if he can still find a yard in the box or get on the end of a few crosses he'll have another couple of years at a high level. Been a shining light for us during some really dark years though, who knows where we'd have been without his goalls during the Ashley years and I'm glad that he was still here to enjoy some good times with us. Will always think fondly of him.
Ben
His best game for me was the 2022/23 at home to Arsenal 2 - 0 win and he absolutely bullied them.

Kid Icarus
It's funny like, in my experience Schar is the straight man's choice. All of the lasses I know seem to prefer Wilson.

A fully fit Wilson could mix it with the best the league has to offer, it’s just a shame injuries kept restricting his appearances when with his latent talent, could have given even more. That first line is how I'd like to remember him. I'm a sucker for an inventive finish, and Wilson always found a way. I think if he'd stayed injury free he would have gone down as not only a great PL striker, but possibly an England one as well.

That shot from miles out that narrowly missed (or was it saved?) Either way, fuck. Up there with Martins destroying the crossbar against Liverpool for "shots that I count as goals anyway."
